Thinning Out Your Thighs

Just incase anyone was asking… I’m no body builder or figure athlete… But I changed my training routine for about 6 months, replacing running with intense skipping. I thought it accentuated the areas I liked the most and I certainly have the makings of frog legs with strong quads and less pronounced calves.

Running is good but skipping is really fun and amazing cardio.

Ash I forgot all about that. I had this guy I would train with and we would race skipping and that would kill me. Tons of fun, but hard. Thanks for the tip.

Hi I am Personal Trainer, any merit in doing really high reps on leg press with light weight, say 50 to 100 reps, or 40 to 50 rep squats with light or even body weight, or 60+ walking lunges to drop body fat around on legs of females? As I have few clients who are competing in the sports model category, and a female competitor I met recently told me of this trick, and she swears by it. And since the goal is also not too hypertrophy the legs too much, some of my girls already have enough size…
Please help. And anyone use poliquins lean legs, and any reviews? and what can you do drop lower legs body fat for women? Thanks

I wish i could help. I have huge muscular legs and unfortunately I dont compete and i’m only a beginner. I’m not sure if you found any help, but alot of the women on Figure Athlete talk about how to minimize leg pass and get down to a smaller size and alot of them compete. So you might be able to also ask some of those women too.

Good luck:)

I have been told by Laroyal that Lean Legs by Poliquin is amazing. It is effective at targeting certain areas that are known for being stubborn. Its a bit pricey though.

did that instant coffee/firming lotion thing work??

i workout hard but i also try every cellulite product i can find… my hips are a mess!

The one I tried was a waste of money. At the time I tried it I was very lean, around 13% and looked like a grey hound but I still had cellulite on my top outer thighs. I’ve concluded that, barring lipo, it’s something you’re stuck with to one degree or another.

inefficient leg work outs strike me as a pretty inefficient way of atrophying ones legs.
being in a wheelchair would be a more balls to the wall approach, i would have thought. maximum efficacy in minimum time.
why people want to aspire to the subjective opinion of figure judges (who probably don’t even agree) compared to aspiring to their own subjective opinion is quite beyond me…

to each their own, i guess.

i read something somewhere about differences in male / female fat gain / loss patterns. about how high estrogen guys can lose weight in a female pattern (where, for instance, the upper thighs are one of the last areas to lose weight). maybe hormone manipulation could help females lose weight in more of a male pattern…

if that is what one aspires to…

dunno.

its difficult because my top half is already pretty lean… i’d have to get way leaner to see it on my hips.

i certainly don’t want a figure like a man… i just want to like my hips

Nicotine. It’s no accident that women put on weight after quitting smoking - nicotine is not only an appetite suppressant but it also suppresses oestrogen. I’m naturally pear-shaped and the time when I smoked was the only time I could fit into a UK size 10 jeans (US 6…I actually had a pair of GAP size 4s at one point). Of course, when I quit, my arse and thighs got heavy again.

I would certainly not advise smoking for obvious reasons, but I did read an article where a coach had his figure competitor use a topical nicotine gel on her hips and thighs. I guess patches, gum or lozenges would do the trick, if you hate your hips enough to want to take a substance that is basically a poison, and addictive.

Did anyone read the article on T-Muscle “the insulin advantage”? It said in there he had some anecdotal evidence that pure cranberry juice had an effect on lowering cellulite to a degree. I was wondering if anyone found any truth to that (my fiancee would be greatly appreciative!)

Any topical treatment for cellulite is only temporary. The only sure fire way to get rid of it for good is surgical removal.

I drink cranberry and milled flax every morning a la “Fat Flush”. I don’t know how much it, in and of itself, helps reduce cellulite. But, I think it helps me to keep my body a little cleaner. That, along with building and maintaining muscle, is the ticket to reducing the appearance of cellulite IMO. Notice I said “reducing the appearance”, not “reducing cellulite.” You really can’t ever get rid of it (excepting having drastic surgical procedures), but mine looks pretty minimal via diet and keeping my muscle mass high.

Just my 2 cents.

Has anyone tried VelaShape?

I’m pretty sure that you can’t remove cellulite thru any kind of surgery. I understand that deep tissue massage can help.

I’ve had it on my ass since I started my period, around 14 I guess. The only way I’ve found to get rid of it is the hard way: cardio, water, fiber supps and a metric shit ton of green veggies. It works, but if I slack off it comes back pretty quick.

What is this cardio you speak of?

i’d definitely rather keep trying the hard way and not the hormone manipulating way … i’m a bit man-ish as it is

it’s that thing people do where they run outside when no one is chasing them, or inside on a machine where not only is no one chasing them but they dont go anywhere, and generally move very quickly for extended periods of time with no apparent destination or tangible work accomplished.

That sounds a awful lot like picking up after my kids. I guess I do a shit ton of cardio. Why is my bum still dimpled then?

Genetics. Oestrogen. Bad luck. Who can say? I’ve always had it. I noticed today when I took years 5 and 6 swimming (that’s 9-11 year olds) that some were starting to get it, and these were otherwise slim girls. I’ve had it since puberty, and even at my thinnest my arse has resembled a pair of cauliflowers. My solution is not to look at my arse, and to wear shorts when I swim.
