hahahha.
what a joke.
Heh heh, what a joke this whole thread is.
I want to climb Mount Everest, but I am just wondering if all the climbing and altitude and shit is going to affect my training, because I would like to do both.
Don’t listen to these haters, man. Yes, you can lift during training. They actually encourage it. When I went through BUD/s, I woke up at like 10AM, had a kickass breakfast with my boys and DI’s, then we’d hit the weights, I mean hard! Followed up by a little bit of cardio on the beach. I can’t wait to go back. 5 stars!!!

Dude first of all you don’t just join the seals, they are selected from the spec ops community. Second if you even question for a minute if you want/and or can do it then you won’t make it.
you enlist, sign up for a seal contract, then you try your best at buds training. its easier to say your trying for the sseals rather than type out the whole enlistment process. i suppose the Op could have said he was thinking about started BUDS training, but then again that probably wouldnt stand out in the forum as much as seals.
im pretty sure the OP didnt think he could just join a seal team.

I can tell you for a FACT that during BUD/s a major portion of the PT is Crossfit. If you want to prepare for BUD/s that is definitely one place to start.
fucking ranger panties for the win!
Since your a big guy tell me your experince or you were not lifting weights back then. By that I mean not lifting weights at that age not just during training. Yes now I know lift weights is impossible during bud training. Lets say you pass bud training and the hard part are you able to lift weights and eat right?
I know it seems like a joke but for real? Also your an officer. How was training in the army like working out?
for real what dude? you have no idea what you are talking about.
yes i’m an officer. training in the army ‘like working out’ is awesome. i can get big and scary, and then motivate my soldiers b/c if ‘swole EL TEE’ over here can run, every other gomer pile better get his ass in gear.
Tell me your experince and process. I want to learn. Just like the army rangers. tell me about them. Im guessing it equally as hard as navy seals. Your an officer how do you get time to work out?
I wish they made a military reality show that featured people like motherofpearl. Who could display their ignorance willingly and get put through rude awakenings for the visual pleasure and entertainment of the masses.

I’d pay to watch that:D.

Yes like I said I know I can not work out while training. I still want to know other things. I am mentally strong but I am not saying I am going to do just maybe. You think any other people had support from others. Who knows many were proubly not even lifters and did not know the time and dedication it took to do what we love to do and yet some did make it. At least I know how hard working out is. KNOWING THAT I WILL KNOW HOW MUCH HARDER THE SEALS WOULD BE.
Dude…don’t even bother, it would be a waste of your time. The fact that your even thinking about lifting seperate from the training is ridiculous…
I know someone who trains SEALS, SAS, Secret Service etc…the last thing on you mind will be anything involving lifting or exercise while going through that training.
Forget about the physical side, they are gonna try and break you down mentally…and I hate to break it to ya, but you ain’t ready, just by reading your posts…

I know that now but I mean after. Like for example holymac is an officer. He went threw tough but easier training and did not work out during training except pushups, pullups, etc. I mean after BUDs training are you able to work out and after everything are you able to work out? By everything i mean you are already a Seal.

How old are you seriously? I put 1000$ down that in 10 year that you’ll look back to this time in your life and will say “WTF was I thinking?”

Whats chicktuna? Please can you just explain my question if you know. I am a junior right now and I still have time to think. I know if I had a reason to join I could make it but not if I had to give up everything I work hard for the rest of my life. I know I can’t work out during BUD but can you after. If anyone has any sources I can look up please.

After they wave their wands over you and say abracadabra you’re a SEAL, you’ll go through who knows how many months more of training and getting treated like shit. then, you’ll get stationed somewhere and you’ll eat shitty chow hall food and PT once a day. Or you might hump out somewhere on a Monday at 4 in the morning and not come back until Friday night and then they’ll cut you loose for the weekend, where you’ll just sit on base and clean your gear anyways cuz none of you have cars!
Your best bet is also one of your worst, go to the NAVY recruiter and ask him all types of questions, but ALWAYS REMEMBER - hes just there to get you to sign that contract, then he can send you off to be a bulk fuel specialist for the next 5 years for all he cares.
Allright troll, You dont have what it takes.Any guy that wants to be a seal isnt getting online asking a bunch of dudes that talk about lifing weights what they think about the seals.
You dont have what it takes.Just be a squid
One of my good buddies is an Airborne Ranger and he says Ranger school was the hardest thing he has ever done and he is one of the toughest people I have ever met, (physically and menatally)He worked with the Seals in Afghanastan.

Thanks but im joining the military maybe not an elite forces but I will join the military. What will be the differnce between joining the marines(of course navy seals is harder)but after your done with marine training whats the differnces between marines and Navy Seals(Navy seals after you passed)? Is it any different in terms of eating and lifting?
