It’s quick dry concrete too…
I was referring to laying concrete… you pour concrete and lay asphalt. /joke.
If you think that’s bad, last month I had a 14,000 sq. ft. Metal building arrive too short. The damn Manufacturer and installer didn’t measure from top of footing, but top of slab! Building was nearly a foot short.
Whatever, I’m an accountant…
Ohboy. Someone back at the shop had a bad day after that one got back to them.
I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been about to start fabrication and go “Whooaaah! Hold up. Call the architect…”.
We went to a wedding of a family friend. My father-in-law got chatting with some guy. I look over 5 minutes later and the other guy has fallen asleep. I look over 20 minutes later, the guy is still sleeping and the father-in-law is still talking to him.
You could help @dchris prove that his building may look a foot short but it is actually as tall as it was supposed to be. ![]()
The (not at the time) funniest part was the architect told me what happened, in email, stating it was 9-10’ too short! Note the ’ vs. "
Stupid Dimensions!!! What do they mean anyways!?!
I won’t even ask how that happened.
Just edit the drawing tolerances to say plus or minus one foot, all good.
Just re-allocate that steel and accrue it for use on the next job.
Two journal entries. Problem solved.
You dont understand, it must be destroyed before it is unleashed.
Well, since I’m the owner that’s not really in my best interest.
The way my mother-in-law just referred to my son as “my baby” … the lady makes me cringe the way she interacts and refers to my kid
When you find out information about people that they don’t know you know; for example, I have an acquaintance that is very likable, energetic, and he’s enthusiastic about working out and getting back in shape, easy to talk to, seems like a pretty good dude, has a wife and a couple of kids.
I have a female employee that works for me part time, is very attractive, has a husband and a couple of kids, she is good with customer service and professional and friendly.
One day, when we had a small amount of overlap at work the guy comes in and is talking my ear off, I notice that my female employee has gone uncharacteristically quiet (she typically engages in banter and gives it right back to folks), she remained polite, but quiet. When the guy leaves she quietly apologizes, “I’m sorry if I came off as rude or anything, but that guy (in the not so distant past) sent me a ton of messages through social media flirting with me and attempting to get together with me, so now I try to be as professional and/or avoid being in close proximity with him, just so you know why I was so distantly professional with him.”
This makes me uncomfortable, because I want to like the guy and if I didn’t know this bit of info I would, but man…that makes it tough for me to really respect him or want to really associate with him much.
Being in the middle of two friends fighting
So, I won’t get into the details here, but my sister in law (who looks almost identical to my wife) has been walking around my house (and yard) butt ass naked several times over the last week.
So she’s mentally unwell then. Don’t you have little boys? Good luck.
“Dad, why is aunt Agnes naked in the living room?”
“Umm, who want to go out to eat… right now?!”
Ya, man… It’s a tough situations and I’m trying to be patient, but she’s not going to be living here for much longer unless she begins to improve.
Just had to deal with something similar with a dementia patient in the family. Sorry about all that.
Sorry to you too. My mother in law passed last year after suffering through Lewy Body dementia (after a misdiagnosis of Parkinson’s) for about 5 years. It was hard.
We’re optimistic about my sister-in-law. She has an extreme form of OCD so it’s more a personality disorder than a mental disorder, but it’s been pretty devastating for her family and it’s starting to creep into ours and I can’t have that.
