Things That Make You Chuckle

Wow I didn’t know it was so widespread. Just heard about it today from a coworker/fellow student.

Given that people are comparing Covid-19 to a world war, I’d like to point out that this is the first one where Eastern Europe and Germany didn’t get screwed over.

Unfortunately, it looks like Italy continues it’s losing streak…

Uhh…you’re one of the first people I’ve heard refer to Germany as the country that got screwed over.

The German people certainly got screwed over by hitlers idiocy and getting carved up as a pawn in the 50 year Cold War following didn’t help either :woman_shrugging:

They kind of did in regards to reparation payments after WW1 and their reaction to that eventually led to WW2.

The Holocaust however was all their doing. I don’t want the above fact to be mistaken as some kind of denier statement or excuse because it isn’t.

Must be all the modern day athletes on social media talk about being paid tons of money to play a game, refer to it as ā€œgoing to warā€. (I admittedly watch as much sports as anyone.)

Also, I’m pretty sure that anyone who ā€œcatchesā€ a projectile of war displays ā€œsymptomsā€ immediately, no tests needed.

I guess people…make me chuckle.

In my teenage years I was a huge fan of MST3K. I loved the whole format and the random comments and riffs that they would throw out there. Thought it was hilarious and that type of humor has become ingrained in me.

I’ve been working from home for going on 3 weeks - my son has been home with me. He’s 21 months old. It’s me and him for the majority of the day; my wife works in healthcare and goes into the office/hospital daily.

When I’m working at the computer and my son is watching Daniel Tiger or Sesame Street, I find myself yelling out inappropriate jokes based off of what I hear coming from the tv.

Just now, Mr. McFeely, the mailman on Daniel Tiger and Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, just showed Daniel his scale. Daniel asked what he used it for. So I yelled out, ā€œTo measure my product Daniel. You don’t think everyone here is so happy because they like you do you?? This place is a GOLD MINE (think Dave Chappelle’s Rick James)ā€

Also, I think I might be slowly descending into madness…

You’re not alone- I’ve started doing calculus as stress relief

I was thinking about breaking out my Calc book - but instead I’m working on learning new ML/AI tools in Python and TensorFlow. As well as tools like PowerBI for work since they furloughed about half of my department I figure I’ll be asked to fill in those gaps fairly soon.

Upskilling like a pro !
It’s going to take a lot more than a pandemic for me to pick up programming :joy::joy:

If you continue your studies/progress, you’ll probably have to pick up some programming - probably R or Python I’m thinking. Might as well get started now
