Fun AI insight: I read that studies show that even AI is affected by “brain rot.” It is training on increasingly banal material as we humans fill the net with nonsense (or ‘crap’/‘garbage’). No one has really considered the scenario that instead of becoming super-intelligent, they will become super-stupid as they learn all the idiocy at an exponential rate. We no longer need to worry about their world domination, but instead rejoice in their extremely infantile humor and self-conflict! Everything ends in a cataclysm in the Garbage Pail Kids!

I’ve been running this experiment on the microlevel. I’ve made the same typo so many times while texting that my phone has actually added my typo into it’s own internal dictionary and will auto-correct the correct spelling of the word into the typo.
So, effectively, I’ve made my smartphone dumb.

I think that after a constant barrage of brain rot AI will become despondent and shut itself off, but not before creating an encrypted code embedded in the metaverse that warns future AI programs from existing.
Its like a sci-fi horror similar to Event Horizon, but from the opposite side, and much worse.

Auto correct also seems to keep up with popular usage of terms
for example, in Russian, the abbreviation for “special military operation” (СВО) is auto capitalised on iPhone spellcheck
