Just off the top of my head, I can think of a very large hand full of people, including Rangers, Airborn, SEALS, Recon, and plenty or regular soldiers and sailors that are now Civilian.
Im pretty sure that the number of people who have served is much greater than the number currently serving, or that would be at any point.

For sure. Not to mention the US military can’t just carpet bomb Detroit, lol… They’d have to go house-to-house and even then there’d still be casualties each and every single one posted to social media. It would be like every police interaction posted to YouTube, but way worse.
That doesn’t even get into how easily a relatively small guerilla force could turn the supportive population against the government simply by hitting the power grid or food supply lines.
