They’re easy to make it’s just time consuming. I enjoy cooking too, but I don’t like following recipes/steps, which is part of the problem for me.
That is… excessive……
I’d consider myself a pretty competent cook. I’ve made 10 dish home style meals (that’s how we do it in China) with less than 20 ingredients, 10 of which are the star ingredients (fish for a fish dish, pork belly for red braised pork, bok choy for stir fried bok choy)
Unless your making a spice forward cuisine (e.g. south/south East Asian) , any seasoning outside of garlic, pepper, salt, soy sauce, chilli and sugar has very diminishing marginal returns IMO
When I cook for myself, meals usually contain 3 ingredients: the protein, salt and a veggie
I go through a ton of black pepper. Also butter. But that is the format I follow. Protein source and a veggie. From there it is just simple add ons like butter and seasonings.
My husband and I tried it once and found it overly fussy also. We eat like horses like @pettersson’s family, but also it’s not actually time-saving if there are no leftovers. I think we’re money-conscious, but even more we’re time-scrupulous.
We can throw some Montreal seasoning on a couple of steaks to grill and roast or steam some veggies/potatoes and be done almost before we start.
Same thing with chicken, salmon, etc. I don’t really need sauces with well cooked meat.
This stuff is amazing
Wow. Just, wow.

Tree stars. And I’m only 36. It’ll be a while before colonoscopies.
That movie can really mess with a kid.
I guess the little girl who voiced Ducky was murdered by her dad shortly after the first movie IIRC.
Really, Jesus…
I’ve still got a few years myself.
Good grief, man. Wrong thread.
