Like when you see a crowd of people. Might be 10,000, might be 15,000 either way thats a lot.
Definitely a positive feeling though. It’s one of my favorites for all kinds of cooking.

I have to admit, my usual 8 eggs a day has been difficult as of late.
It’s like the only protein that’s acceptable to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner and deserts.

I went through a few years of not eating eggs or drinking protein at all because I was just burned out completely.
Coming from a guy that was used to eating 12-20 eggs a day and drinking 3-5 protein shakes a day.

Costco is holding the line on the price of eggs, but limiting the # of packs people can buy to 2.
Organic pasture raised eggs (most expensive option) are $8.99 for a 2 dozen pack, not sure what the “normal” eggs cost.
So yes, an 18 pack for $8 is pricey! Inflation motivated me to join Costco, and even buying for one, I find the membership cost is worth it.

In my area, a dozen has peaked around $5, 18 has peaked around $7 (I think). That’s just standard grocery store stuff - nothing fancy like organic or pasture raised. Prices are lower now than they have been as of late.
I get a dozen for $3 from a farmer.

That’s not because of “fancy”; when possible, I try to assuage my guilt at being a carnivore -pasture raised means the chickens can actually roam free if they choose. (or are actually roaming free all the time, not sure)
I buy beef from a farm in Idaho, where the cows live a better life than I do!!!, before, you know…
Unfortunately, unlike your eggs, I have to pay a premium!

That was at the dreaded Walmart. (This is just not a good Walmart) Costco is a 150 mile round mile trip for me. I know the prices are better but…

Damn, that sucks.
Walmart is pissing me off because imo they’re using this inflation thing to raise prices more than necessary. e.g. their oranges cost more than at Trader Joe’s; their “Great Value” pre-packaged meals have increased by about 25%, now cost the same as “name” brands; the price of their frozen veggies are about the same, but quality is much worse so effectively an increase (Trader Joe’s has stayed the same) Since when was Walmart expensive compared to Trader Joe’s?

I live in a tiny town that has one grocery store and one meat market. The prices at both are astronomical if it’s not on the weekly ad. The eggs there are $11.59/18 but there were several items that were even more expensive at Walmart. 
Definitely price gouging.
I totally wasn’t dissing your taste in eggs - I agree with your tastes and reasons why. I was just trying to explain the cost of the “plain old” eggs at the grocery store here and couldn’t think of how to describe them.
EDIT: So “fancy” was how I described their counterparts.

I’ve noticed that percentage wise the plain old eggs have gone up much more than the “fancy” eggs. Pasture raised went from like $4 /dozen to $7/dozen. Regular went from $1.50 to $5. So the premium for the fancy eggs seems much more reasonable now.
