Thigh Size Standards

Steve Reeves - Quads @ 26.0, Calves @ 17.9

George Eiferman - Quads @ 25.0, Calves @ 16.0
Reg Park - Quads @ 26.5, Calves @ 17.5
John Grimek - Quads @ 25.7, Calves @ 17.3
Jack Delinger - Quads @ 25.0, Calves @ 16.6

There is a temporal aspect to this. The bar has shifted away from aesthetics and more towards pure size.
(I have said nothing new here)

Tom Platz had 36" thighs from what I’ve found. Ronnie Coleman has 34" thighs.

Chicken legs to me would be below 30" inches.
So someone with legs 4.5" smaller than Ronnie’s has ‘chicken’ legs in your opinion? I think your perception is a bit skewed…I would not call 29.5" legs chicken legs. But a nice size.

Arnolds thighs were 29" I believe, 36" things just doesn’t sound right, Arnold had a 34" waist for crying out loud!
I don’t think anyone said Arnold’s were 36". I brought up that measurement referring to Earl Campbell, who looks like he has volleyballs for hamstrings when wearing football pants.

Also, a lot of Arnold’s ‘classic’ photos were taken earlier in his career. There is a huge difference between his early 70’s photos and his muscular peak. His legs in particular grew drastically.

let’s not forget that arnold’s claim of having 22" arms is fake, he had 20 at most, there’s an article around here somewhere about a dude that mesured most of the guys of arnold’s eara and only sergio got to 20" (probably because of monstrous triceps).

That was Arthur Jones. Cold and on the first flex which is how I always thought arms were to be measured, it seems to bruise a lot of egos that way haha.

And are you sure it was Sergio’s triceps? haha He had footballs for triceps, no significant biceps peak because they attached about halfway down his forearm it seemed.
For the record, I don’t believe this (Arthur Jones’ measurements) much at all. Maybe Arnold’s arms weren’t 22", but I have huge doubts as far as Sergio’s arms only being 20". The man had legs for arms.

I sure as hell wouldn’t run around saying Arnold’s measurement was fake. The truth is, we don’t know and probably never will.

What I specifically hate are those who think that since Arnold had a certain sized arm measured by whomever that no one else could ever come close to that unless they were a pro bodybuilder.

Sergio was incredible no doubt and I prefer his look over Arnold, not too bad on the thighs as well.
