Coach, if I really feel the pecs doing the work in all kinds of presses, only they get pumped and are sore the next day (on’t feel a thing in tris and delts), should I do any isolation exercises?
It sounds like you’ll be able to stimulate near maximal growth from big pressing exercises only. You can add one isolation exercise, which might give you that extra 5%, but yeah, big pressing movements will be enough for your to stimulate a lot of chest growth.

Coach,

In the past you’ve said that you regard olive oil as a “physique-neutral” healthy fat, but do you feel that besides being a healthy fat, coconut oil(despite not being an essential fat) is potentially physique-enhancing?

Former olympic lifter

CT, Amit is stacked. Good luck on his pursuit of the pro card. Seems to me the only thing he is “lacking” is trap size or maybe he just has a long neck? Or maybe I’m just full of shit haha.

Were these max lifts or for reps just curious.

yeah, but where’s the Traps??

If someone dosen’t need to exercise directly the abdominals, is there any issue with the plank (and variations) about the isometric activation if he choose to do only some of these exercises? I think all the compound movements or single-limb exercise use the abdominals for stability and there are all isometrics for this muscle. Is it overwork? Any suggestion? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

There. But honestly we are not trying to build them up too much. Amit as a naturally narrow structure and a long torso. Having traps that are too big would make him look even narrower and blocky. Bodybuilding is as much about an illusion as it is about size.

Coconut oil has body comp effects because it increases thyroid hormone production which helps with fat loss.

Coach Thib, if your goal is to gain muscle weight as fast as possible, would you reccomend a split or TBT (or maybe upper/lower split)?

Coach Thib,

What are your thoughts on implamenting a Verkhoshaky type conjugated weights program with contact games players.

Block A will be a max strength & strength endurance. Block B will be explosive strength & muscle edurance and Block C specific positional tasks.

The dominant training means will be the squat which will be completed in 2 - 3 series in block A. Will there be any negative effects of only using this exercise ? Do i need more movement patterns

I appreciate any advice you can give, things to look out for or whether a block approach may not be that effective. I also realise that the depth of your answer may take up an entire book so a few pointers will be usefull

Cheers

CT,

Even though there are no one-length fits all prescriptions for accumulation and intensification blocks, do you have any general recommendations for how the length of each type of phase would vary depending upon both a trainee’s main goal(strength, hypertrophy, a more even blend of both) as well as training age? I’d also appreciate your take on the following ideas and if they are valid or just foolish.

If your goals are more strength-focused, alternate 3-4 week intensification blocks with 2-3 week accumulation blocks. Could strength-focused/intensification blocks even be as long as 4-8 weeks if exercise selection is changed every 3-4 weeks to take advantage of fast neural adaptations.

If goals are a mix of strength and hypertrophy, alternate 3-4 week blocks of accumulation and intensification.

If goals are hypertrophy-focused, alternate 2-3 week intensification blocks with 4-8 week accumulation blocks(again being sure to at least slightly alter exercise selection though not as much so as in the intensification example).

Thib,

I am a bit confused, because I searched coconut oil and thyroid function and found the following on the mayo clinics website.

They gave no real reasoning behind this statement, but it seems odd that an establishment like the Mayo clinic would intentionally disseminate fallacious info, so I was just curious.

Hi Coach

I’m looking to increase my intake of BCAAs (other than around workouts) and wondered whether you still endorse your previously published system of 5-10g five times daily or whether there are any modifications to this?

Many thanks in advance for your time

JB

The best strategy, the one that I now recommend is 30-50g of BCAA peri-workout and 3-5g of LEUCINE with every meal.
think i ll go find some leucine.
is this the new recommendation that you were talking of before?

Coach do you ever recommend a joint formula supplement (Glucosamine,Chondroitin, MSM, etc.)if so which one? Is there any better alternatives?
