Life news:
OMG THE PRESSURE TO HAVE ENTERTAINING LIFE NEWS IS SO OVERWHELMING NOW!!!

Errrrrrrrr…uhhhhhhhhh…

SooOoOooOoO…
Been busy playing paper mario sticker star on my dS, heh.

OH I saw Django Unchained yesterday. SO OUTSTANDINGLY AWESOME, words can’t even really describe how much I enjoyed this film.

Usually when I go to movies I get mini panic attacks every 30-40 minutes thinking like
“OMG I have to SIT without moving for sooooo much longer!!” or
“OMG what IFFFFFFFFFFFF I have to pee and it starts hurting?!” (I still have a bladder infection for some reason)
Then I start trying to do glute activiaty stuff in my seat to try to calm myself down. Sitting for long periods of time really scares the crap out of me. I don’t even like having to drive to places if it takes more than 20 mins to get there…
ANYWAY UM
OH YA this movie
I felt no anxiety at all whatsoever during this film. I was calm for the ENTIRE TWO HOURS AND FUCKING 45 MINUTES!!
I was too busy being enthralled. It’s like my brain forgot that it’s typically mental, LOL.
It was also very hard not to clap during the awesome parts.
WOOT WOOT WOOT goes the excited girl watching the violence !

If I was there with a boy friend or something I woulda asked him if he wanted to clap with me so I wouldn’t have to feel stupid clapping alone tear

KBYE

I wouldve said “sure babay lets clap” and then not clapped with you.

I feel like you don’t actually type this log. You just hook your brain to a machine and it writes your thoughts for you.

The log definitely reads like her stream of consciousness. It’s actually not easy for most people to write that way.

I think that is why so many of us find it fun to read.

K YA.

I’m gonna be having anxiety about my workout all day.

Life news:
I saw a boy who used to harass me in grade 8 at the gym today. “FUCK YOU SCOTT”, my brain yelled. “FUCK YOU AND YOUR STUPID “COOL” KIDS GROUP.”

ALSO, oddly enough, they played the song “blue” by that effile, efflie, EYE FULL 65 group. I’m blue and da ba dee da baaah die.
Which was bascially like the anthem of grade 8 for some godawful reason, what a shitty song.
So we have stupid scott, stupid music, and stupid imperfect reps.
I’m GRUMPY.

Does anyone think that imprefect reps still make you stronger?

I think I need to make my back off sets lighter cause I get fatigued and whatnot.

Umm what else…

BYE

I think you get a lot out of tough workouts where form breaks down.
I was squatting last night and it took me about 45 mintues to be able to hit parallel. Not every day will be a great day. But you hit 200 pounds! I think you should be happy with that workout you had. A lot of good work done in it. Don’t let a little bad ruin a lot of good.

What could come from form breakdown except possible injury?

I avoid them and when a set goes to hell i bail on it then make up the reps on another set if im up to it…

If your reps are all perfect you aren’t challenging yourself.
This is what I think will happen:
That WRONG form will be etched into my brain and I’ll never have right form again and/or something bad/wrong like that will happen during a meet cause if it happened during training it makes me realize it could easily happen during a meet also.
I also think it would work slightly different muscles than if I did the right form so then I accomplished nothing as far as building up strength in the lift goes.
MAKES SENSE, YEAH?
scj119 wrote:

O REALLY? So you’re saying that when other people put in their logs something like :

275 x 6

It doesn’t necessarily mean that all 6 reps were perfect? How come nobody ever highlights their wrong doings like I do? I feel like I’m the only one who ever lets their form get sloppy :/…

I wonder if I notice more wrong things than other people…
WELL THIS IS SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT

belt off
205 x 3 sets of 3 <— this was actually like a million, but you know… There were flaws and whatnot.

I’m not well.
My workouts have become pure torture cause I make myself do shit over and over again, then I run out of time and I freak out about being late, but I can’t stop from trying to perfect everything, ARRRRRRGGGGGG. STOP THE INSANITY!!!

I hate my brain sometimes, hatehahtehathehahthahehhahtha.fuck you shut up!!!

I didn’t count one of my deadlift sets because on the last rep I set it down kinda wrong. Like maybe one hand let go before the other and it sorta bounced or something, I MEANW WTF WHO CARES ABOUT THAT?
If I had written that I did 205 x 4 sets of 3 then I would have gotten guilt induced anxiety about stating that I did something even though I don’t feel it was good enough to count.
But then I get anxiety looking at it cause it doesn’t look like enough.
OK WELL YOU WANT ENOUGH, SELF? HOW ABOUT I TYPE OUT EVERYTHING I ACTUALLY DID MOTHER FUCKER??

K done, heh.

I need to see a shrink or something, I feel like a big psycho ball of miserable poo all the time.

Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, life news:

I had a dream that bruce willis came up from underneath the grass and started shooting people with a machine gun.
NOW I HAVE A MACHINE Gun, HO HO HO
But he was my dad so he didn’t shoot me.
Then there was a moose and I was taking pictures of it and I was all like “where is this moose’s boyfriend? I love those big antlers!!”
I wanted to take pictures of a boy moose apparently.
I do love theee moose!!!

It’s just assumed when you are going heavy I think. For example I hit a 330x4 squat last week, one of the reps I think I didn’t quite hit parallel, another one I could feel some buttwink and my hips didn’t shoot back far enough… it just comes with the territory when you get to a weight that is heavy enough that it’s really hard to move.

Now you shouldn’t let your form be a train wreck, but you should be pushing your body to a point where your weakness/weaknesses on a particular lift begin to show themselves and require considerable effort to keep under control.

SPOCK!! I have a theory…is you’re OCD flaring up with stress or anxiety for whatever reason? Its not YOU its your brains response to stress!–in my opinion at least! I have battled OCD myself…and its so silly but enslaving at the same f&cking time. :{

WHOOORRDDD on the 200 squat!!

Those “wonky” reps or whatever after it could be anything–fatigue, distractions…anxiety over getting a PR and thinking you’ll never get it again or that it didn’t count…for whatever reason you might know or might not you’re coping with stress. It could be good stress like celebrating a well earned strength gain but it still might have stupid anxiety stuff attached to it.

I OFTEN feel like I could write many responses to what you say in you log in kinship! Anyways…my OCD flares up with coping. Coping with good and bad!

And as for jobs and stuff–don’t feel to freaked out about school. Going to school as an adult is a very different experience then as a high schooler. You might surprise yourself with how you want to be a good student when you’re paying for it and are mature! Also its a great way to meet people. LOTS of people!!

WE shall see!

Life news:
I got a job interview at Target! Not just any job either, a human resources team memeber!

That’s like… not that bottom of the totem pole, cool.

Cruisin’ right along in paper mario sticker star. I accomplish something everyday. Right now I am collecting Wiggler pieces that have been scattered around the forrest.
It’s weird, I really don’t remember wiggler being my friend in the other mario games. He didn’t really bug me too much, but if I jumped on his head he would get all red and then run around like a crazy foo.

BYE

^^^ job interview is the most important part of that post.

Good luck!

Hope you get that job!

K, fuck me !!!

Decided that I need to start doing things differently since shit keeps going wrong and my brain is going psycho!!!

So this is what I did today

Squats
135 x 2 sets of 8
145 x 3 sets of 5
155 x 2 sets of 3
All these were great then…

165 x 2 sets of 2
Then for some reason my brain kept erasing that I had done stuff, so so matter how many sets I did I had always only done one set of 165 x 2
So I did like 8 sets of 165 x 2 and a 170 x 2, but at the end I said fuck it, I’ve done none.

It wasn’t even like my from was off, it was like i just couldn’t convince myself that I had actually done that many sets.
Delightful.

Bench
95 x 2 sets of 10
115 x 2 sets of 5
125 x 3 sets of 3

K FUCK THIS SHIT!
I am taking TWO WHOLE DAYS OFF to cure what ails me and then I am starting fresh. I honestly don’t think I’ve had two days off in like 4 years. I remember one time I even had the flu and i finished deadlifting and my fever was so bad I was crying begging someone to drive me home cause I could barely walk :/.

JENN YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG!! I am crossing the line from quirky to insane!! A line that I always wanted to keep in the distance, thank ya very much!!

So tomorrow I am going to get my hair done and on friday i am going to go see Gangster Squad starring some sexy men with old fashioned machine guns…
Gonna focus on chilling out, walking, rumble rolling, stretching, etc…
I remeber the last time I started getting this nuts over lifting and I ended up quitting powerlifting for 9 months and losing my soul in the process.
WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN AGAIN!!
Right now I am worried that I will never be able to have a quality workout ever again. That’s why i keep going to the gym cause I need to have one “good day” to satisfy myself in order to take a rest day, but shit’s not working!!

So ya, be very fucking mad at me if i come in here tomorrow and post that I worked out!!!

Life news :

Job interview went really well! The lady will call me on friday to let me know if I got it or not. It sounds like a really fun position. I get to help new employees and do payroll and scheduling and stuff! This will be the first job where I actually have responsibilities!! Eek!!

Regarding the training, do you write down your sets / reps during your workout? Some people are highly visual and need to see it to believe it. You do a shit load of work. Maybe you just need to see it.

I would hate to see your compulsion to train everyday drive you away from what you love. It is easy for others, including me, to say “stop doing that”. But it’s not that easy. I have some experience with compulsive behavior (brother).

Two recommendations on the training.

 • If you are able to manage to train only 4 days a week, then do 5/3/1. The weights will feel light for the first couple of months since you will be able to bang out a lot of reps. Don’t worry about it. Almost every program starts with higher reps to build a base and then ramps intensity over time. Those that don’t make progress on 5/3/1 didn’t stick with it long enough. It will get hard. I wouldn’t even do the PL version since you might stress out over the singles.
 • The other option is the new 5/3/1 version that you train 6 days a week. It’s new. I haven’t done it and probably won’t since I can’t schedule 6 days a week. Last I checked it was free on jimwendler.com. If not, PM me.
