No offence taken! Seriously, I love your work. If you ever plan on coming down to Australia, let me know, you’ve got a place to stay & train.
While I have the floor again, now that I have looked back on my posts,I feel there’s some more details regarding my results that I should add - The gains only started coming for me once a began training in a hybrid style that is basically a mixture of WSB and Pavel’s “bear” workouts. Hypocaloric keto diets and ckd’s did not produce the same gains when I was following a more traditional “pumper” style bodybuilding routine. Actually, they produced no real gains at all besides keeping me lean. Before adopting the new workout system, I believed that I had reached my genetic limit. Now I know better - as you might have read in another post, my new chief aim is to achieve a 1 RM deadlift of 600 lbs, to be done within a 12 months at a bodyfat percentage of 6% or less. When I achieve that lift, I should have a 5RM of around 500 lbs. Plug that number into the “bear” routine and I believe that I’ll have a significantly higher LBM than I have right now. For me, this has been the real secret to getting low carb diets to work. Not the intimate details of the diet itself, but the switching to low reps, focussing on improving the big compound exercises and then using my brand new shiny 5RMs in 3 week “bear” cycles. Hope this gives everyone something to consider. Live free.
I have a question concerning sorbitol and malitol. I know Duchaine originally felt you needed to be careful of sorbitol on a keto diet. Does anyone know much about these two alcohol sweeteners? The reason I ask is that when I’m dying for a something sweet, I will eat a small amount of sugar free chocolate, sweetened with malitol. It tastes like the real deal and preserves my sanity. I’m just wondering how detrimental this might be. I’ve switched from a CKD to straight keto for the next month to see if I can speed up my progress a little, as I have plateaued some. Thanks in advance.

Sorbitol and Manitol should not muck up a keto becuase their insulin response is nill. However, I have avoided all products with sugar alcohols (i.e., the gums) because I use to pound the hell out of them, and too much of those tigers can bloat you. I usually chew two sticks of dentyne regular gum (glucose syrup) as that has two carbs and does not mess with my 30g/day allotment.
Cheers
