The Wind

Ok, which one of you figured out the Professor’s password?

well it’s his fault for chosing a password as obvious as “bulk”

I am going to miss the sensation of seeing that screaming icon and knowing that some rationality was about to be thrown into a thread gone wrong.

Peace, Prof.

Ummm… Wow. What to say. I know my friend hasnt died or anything, but its still pretty sad that Prof has decided to leave. He’s been here a LOOOONNNG time and helped out more people than many of us ever will.

In a way he was kind of a silent mentor to me. I have taken his advice many times without him knowing, and often the advice wasnt directed at me.

Any number of us could cancel our T-Nation accounts and no one would be any the wiser, not Professor X though.

You will be missed, friend. Take care and good luck (but I think we all know about “luck” around here, dont we?) with whatever you decide to do.

Don’t be a stranger, I hope you come back every now and then if nothing more than to say whats up and make sure we are all busting ass and eating cheeseburgers.

Peace man.

From some of these responses it looks like you made enemies, which means you must have done something right.

Good Luck to you.

sounded to me like he was just quiting his job (air force right??) and moving on, but what do i know.

Ahh squash that. Soon all the 150-lbs. posters will take over here and he will come crawling back and beg to make himself heard. The only reply he will be entitled to is, “Dude, I’m busy doing Smith machine half squats with a 45 on each side. Do you mind?”

Professor X, for some reason I picture you being the same person in real life as you are in this site. Thank you for all the great posts here.

I remembered when I got whole milk instead of skim for my bulk, I never heard Prof’s voice before, but somehow I heard him yelling in the back of my head to fuckin’ man up and just drink the milk, and not be afraid of gaining some fat. I thank him for ending my manorexic way, but that’s just the tip of his influence. Thanks for the advice good Sir.

Prof was one of those incredibly rare people, regardless of what you thought of his methods or opinions, that just oozed with integrity. And as far as I can tell from reading his posts, the man is one genuinely darn good human being.

Best wishes where ever you go. You’ll be missed.

True, he’s a good guy, but it was a little dramatic for an internet message board. It’s a only a web forum.

Is it just me, or did sound awfully “suicide note-ish?” Dang.

He could have at least told us his real name…there’s no way I’m the only guy who was wondering that.

Didn’t know it would be that fast. But then, he who values himself must know himself well. What was there is most certainly absent and the wind is as good a guide as any other. Not for me to say, but take care non the less.

Old- Prof X

New- WolBarret

I couldn’t agree more. While it does sound "eulogy-ish, " Professor X lives by a code of accountability and I go back through his posts a lot to learn and make sure I’m hitting all the right notes.

Good luck in whatever you do, X.

Look, I could be wrong about the man, but I call it like I see it. I disagreed with him a couple of times and thought he was an ass plenty more, but regardless, he’s one of the few people on this board that I can say really came across as a stand up act.

Though I’m not too big on people with enough time to write long, dramatic “Goodbye” posts, yet too pressed for time to stick around and follow up when people respond, I will say that if the Professor does leave here for good, that kinda sucks.

I’m also not going to attempt to romanticize him, nor am I going to talk about him in the third person because (guess what?) he’d not dead, and I am more than a little certain he is following this thread’s progress.

To the Professor:
Though you didn’t exactly reinvent the wheel for me in regards to my training philosophy, you still managed to keep it on the right path so that I didn’t roll astray (all too easy when there are a plethora of authors all harping on about this weeks Latest and Greatest).

You were loud, oftentimes obnoxious, and always in our faces. But I think that’s what a good site needs every so often.

Take care, man.

The most fucking bizarre thing about this is that this forum is full of people hiding behind aliases and god knows what else, acting like its one big community, when you dont even know a person’s name.

In fact, knowledge of a person’s “name” is the standard for measuring anonymity. Only the most shallow or dim could think they “know” a person, or “know” if one is a “stand-up act”. I mean, if that doesnt sound like a pretty bleak form of human “interaction” then youre fucked up.

I thought that too…
