If you want to start up that thread again, why don’t you go and do it instead of continually bringing it up and hoping someone else will? Obviously your the only one who cares. This is at least the second time you’ve tried and failed to start it again.

Dude - the title of this thread is called “The Weirdest Things on T-Nation”.

Posting about your 4 year-old son still sucking the tit is very weird.

Using it to elicit funny comments is even weirder.

Rainjack, I couldn’t have said it better myself. All the old weird threads are fair game. It’s not taking potshots, it’s reminiscing. Just for fun, I re-read the thread and the fact that he created it and the underlying circumstances still seem bizarre. With a couple of exceptions, the vast majority of posters thought so too.

It’s taking pot shots when it’s repeated by the same poster[/quote]

To put it in perspective, your “All about Breastfeeding” thread was referenced in a subsequent thread in the context of breast milk and what it tastes like. She suggested that we ask you to “Ask the Expert”, your son. Potshot or not, it was fair game.

Weird, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

No, it is the natural way.

And, yes it’s weird using it to elicit funny comments, but, I posted it on the Sex & Male Animal forum where weird is par for the course.

And even in that particular forum - breast feeding a 4 year-old still stands out as being weird as hell.

You seem to be a bit defensive over your choice to save on the grocery bill and suck all the available calcium from your wife’s body. That’s your choice. Posting it up on an internet forum was also your choice.

It is weird. Normal? Maybe in your commune it is - but in the real world it’s freaking weird. Jerry Springer weird.

If you didn’t want to be called weird - maybe you should have kept your breast feeding regimen between you and your wife. Whining about it now just adds to the weirdness.

My recollection is the tone of her post was “tis, disgusting!”

Yes I’m defensive. When people start attacking my wife they are going to have a fight on their hands.

You are right, I should have kept it to myself. I had no idea how brainwashed the masses are be the media shrinks who are out there appeasing women of their guilt for having to put their babies in day care and go to work instead of mothering.

Instead of calling it weird why don’t you explain why it’s weird? Answer is because you can’t. The best you’ve got is that most AMERICANS don’t do it that way. Do you think we should raise our child the way most other Americans do just to be like everone else?

We have the means that my wife doesn’t have to work and we are able to think for ourselves so we don’t just conform to what everyone else is doing.

I just reread your post. That’s pathetic. You’ve got nothing. It’s a feeble reach to make an argument. Go home.

What is “weird” in the first place? It is a deviation from the normal accepted practices of a society. No - I didn’t look up the definition, but I think it’s pretty close.

Breast feeding a 4 year-old is not normal in the vast majority of western societies. Not normal = weird.

I’ll raise my kids the way I see fit. The difference between you and most of the rest of the parents here on T-Nation is that you are the one that posted about your approach.

I don’t think means has anything to do with whether or not a mom stays home with a child. It is a choice.

You seem to be missing the point. I could care less what you do with your wife, or your kids. Posting what you do, however, is but fodder for threads like this.

You’re the one trying to argue.

I just think breastfeeding a kid old enough to answer the phone and do light chores is weird.

If you want a debate - start another tit sucking thread.

We dont need to turn the breastfeeding thing into intellectual debate.

It violates a social norm. Therefore it is abnormal. The only reason I could see it being acceptable was if you lived in poverty in a third world country.

All this rationalization on your part is such a defense mechanism.

Do you live in some type of hippie commune or something?

funny thing is, in an attempt to find the weirdest thing on T-Nation, this thread can now be considered a nominee.

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO

I saw someone post a shoe and asked for a guess of body fat.

Not sure if it was real since it was a long time agon.

I wasn’t surprised that the virtuous bad boys that frequent Sex and the Male Animal didn’t wholeheartedly embrace the idea of prolonged attachment to the maternal teat.

I love irony.

Well guys I got news a couple hours ago that my wifes water broke. My hearts not exactly in to this argument anymore, but, since I’m a stubborn sob, I’ll make a couple last points.

I tried to get the argument moved over to its original thread. You guys (RJ) chose to take it up here.

I think if the majority of people don’t do something, that makes it weird. Most people don’t lift weights yet it’s eccepted by mainstream.

I think the root of the problem, especially for guys, is a failure to separate nursing from being a sexual act.

Anyway, I’m out of here for a while. Peace.
