because that tool is a pain in the ass. when its brand new, it works pretty good, but after you put some time on that thing, lets face it, it is old and rickety. it flops around a bit, the shovel points dont come line up right anymore- it just doesn’t work like it used to. you can relate to this- you know, those little blue pills you take, after you put the kids to bed?
anyway, the point is the thing is obsolete, there are way better tools for the job. much faster, more efficient tools.
i mean, when you can rent the freakin’ earth auger from home depot for 4x what you pay for the post-hole digger, but then dig the same amount of holes in 1/10th of the time, the thing has more than paid for itself-making that old post-hole digger practically useless.
