The article you linked clearly states more research is needed. It’s thought (and of course hoped) by many that we will be able to say at some point in the future we have lots of evidence to say if you’ve been vaccinated you may be able to do these things safely around unvaccinated people.
Most of the population in the US isn’t vaccinated. The ones that are and will be will likely be vaccinated by different vaccines which may make comparisons difficult for a while.
In short pretending that because one got vaccinated they should just throw all caution to the wind or what’s the point simply isn’t smart. It’s not what the vast majority of the medical community recommends and it’s not what your data supports or suggests.
Same here. Only that I’d vote for trump, but then maybe we are the problem because if you still vote for a candidate, even though you think he’s of bad character/unfit for the task, then you are enabling this streak of bad politicians getting worse.
I thought about that but I don’t see a good solution for this. Maybe Kanye’s approach is the solution, get a third party going. But then there’s the problem eventually of too many like we got here. Black or white is easier to handle than every color on the spectrum political. Especially since people got lives and can’t only do politics in their spare time to keep up with the BS.
IMO the best solution would be that the government is so small and powerless that I don’t care who’s president because it doesn’t affect me living my life. But that’s a dream, the era of big government is back and alive.
(That’s why I also think limited low taxes are important (aside from the biggest reason that i want them out of my pocket) so the government has to pick wisely what it’s doing and can’t grow beyond comprehension. Bureaucracy is also an absolute Monster which will grow with government.)

Greater than 90% safe that you don’t get it and even more safe from hospitalization while if you’re under 60 never even having had a big chance of it being a problem. Your risk is therefore close to nonexistent.

Probably at least greater than 80% safe from passing it. Which means, if you don’t even get it at the same rate and not transmitting it at the same rate and then if you get it, not getting many symptoms (which increase transmission), then your risk is so low that there is nearly no justification for FORCING you to wear a mask or forcing you to stay at home.
Because we are not talking about “is it good to wear a mask”, we are talking about the government official, the president, wearing the mask still to support his measures, like a mask mandate, which are ludicrous. Also, maybe you can be extra extra careful and wear the mask but we should not pretend that it makes much sense at that point. Maybe if you are chilling with your 80+ yo grandpa who’s got heart disease, but not in everyday life.
My greater point is, that Biden justified measures that are out of proportion. Nowhere in the US are hospitals getting overrun last time I checked (which was the goal to stop, remember?) but still many states are locked down and the government blows out the debt like we have never seen before. This will end badly if it goes on. 2 billion infrastructure package is already on the way. Get ready for European style taxes or inflation over there.

I would agree with all of this. However your reply said we do know. Which we don’t. At all. And your article says as much. And even then we have no idea what that means on a large scale and with other factors (variations, different types of vaccines).

This is a different argument than what was originally discussed. Biden wearing a mask despite being vaccinated is following CDC guidelines and setting a good example for others. It’s not a “I’ve been vaccinated therefore I can do whatever.” That would be a shitty example.
The government shouldn’t have masks mandated is different from is it good for someone who is vaccinated to wear a mask and social distance.
That’s odd coming from a person who doesn’t follow the advice of any of the people and has made that clear. You’re such a rebel.

I said Biden is a buffoon with other words. I also said it’s a bad example because it exemplifies that nothing will change if you get the vaccine. It also doesn’t make sense to wear it if you are sitting 100 feet apart from people and are vaccinated like he does. About that is what I said.

I suppose if that’s what one thinks. But that doesn’t make it true. No one is saying if you get the vaccine nothing changes. They are saying get the vaccine and be diligent until we know more about the effects on the unvaccinated and as more people get vaccinated.
Anyone who has paid even a bit of attention should realize that getting vaccinated didn’t mean everything automatically went back to normal. If the populace is too stupid to realize that then we’re SOL anyways.
