Also I don’t care if you believe me or not. I don’t do appeals to authority. Everybody should think for themselves.
I don’t think you know what that means.
Are you able to make any point? I don’t see much thought coming out of you. Probably too much to ask.
You did make an appeal to authority: your own. You are on some secret covid team.
Hey mnben,
here’s the article:
Data analysis in a study by the Israeli Health Ministry and Pfizer Inc found the Pfizer vaccine developed with Germany’s BioNTech reduces infection, including in asymptomatic cases, by 89.4% and in syptomatic cases by 93.7%.
Findings of the pre-published study, not yet peer-reviewed, but based on a national database that is one of the world’s most advanced, were first reported by the Israeli news site Ynet late on Thursday and were obtained by Reuters on Friday.

I can’t get the full study on the transmission as it is only pre published yet.
Here’s the full study on the vaccine from December, also interesting:
https://www.nejm.org/doi/pdf/10.1056/NEJMoa2101765?articleTools=true
Hope you can open it fully.
In the follow-up period start- ing 7 days after the second dose, the vaccine effectiveness for documented infections, symptomatic illness, hospitalization, and severe dis- ease was 92% (95% CI, 88 to 95), 94% (95% CI, 87 to 98), 87% (95% CI, 55 to 100), and 92% (95% CI, 75 to 100), respectively.
No. I was asked if I got some background on this and answered, I didn’t say “believe me because I got that background”. I made my points first.
Your reading comprehension is lacking.
The article you linked clearly states more research is needed. It’s thought (and of course hoped) by many that we will be able to say at some point in the future we have lots of evidence to say if you’ve been vaccinated you may be able to do these things safely around unvaccinated people.
Most of the population in the US isn’t vaccinated. The ones that are and will be will likely be vaccinated by different vaccines which may make comparisons difficult for a while.
In short pretending that because one got vaccinated they should just throw all caution to the wind or what’s the point simply isn’t smart. It’s not what the vast majority of the medical community recommends and it’s not what your data supports or suggests.
Same here. Only that I’d vote for trump, but then maybe we are the problem because if you still vote for a candidate, even though you think he’s of bad character/unfit for the task, then you are enabling this streak of bad politicians getting worse.
I thought about that but I don’t see a good solution for this. Maybe Kanye’s approach is the solution, get a third party going. But then there’s the problem eventually of too many like we got here. Black or white is easier to handle than every color on the spectrum political. Especially since people got lives and can’t only do politics in their spare time to keep up with the BS.
IMO the best solution would be that the government is so small and powerless that I don’t care who’s president because it doesn’t affect me living my life. But that’s a dream, the era of big government is back and alive.
(That’s why I also think limited low taxes are important (aside from the biggest reason that i want them out of my pocket) so the government has to pick wisely what it’s doing and can’t grow beyond comprehension. Bureaucracy is also an absolute Monster which will grow with government.)
Yes and it surely is needed. But we got some data and it’s not just promising, it’s beyond good. It is also no surprise.
The data does support it. You got vaccinated, you are
-
Greater than 90% safe that you don’t get it and even more safe from hospitalization while if you’re under 60 never even having had a big chance of it being a problem. Your risk is therefore close to nonexistent.
-
Probably at least greater than 80% safe from passing it. Which means, if you don’t even get it at the same rate and not transmitting it at the same rate and then if you get it, not getting many symptoms (which increase transmission), then your risk is so low that there is nearly no justification for FORCING you to wear a mask or forcing you to stay at home.
Because we are not talking about “is it good to wear a mask”, we are talking about the government official, the president, wearing the mask still to support his measures, like a mask mandate, which are ludicrous. Also, maybe you can be extra extra careful and wear the mask but we should not pretend that it makes much sense at that point. Maybe if you are chilling with your 80+ yo grandpa who’s got heart disease, but not in everyday life.
My greater point is, that Biden justified measures that are out of proportion. Nowhere in the US are hospitals getting overrun last time I checked (which was the goal to stop, remember?) but still many states are locked down and the government blows out the debt like we have never seen before. This will end badly if it goes on. 2 billion infrastructure package is already on the way. Get ready for European style taxes or inflation over there.
You’re probably the type that says wearing a condom only makes sense during sexual relations, right?
I would agree with all of this. However your reply said we do know. Which we don’t. At all. And your article says as much. And even then we have no idea what that means on a large scale and with other factors (variations, different types of vaccines).
Lol how are you coming to these conclusions? Let’s change that to “possibly greater” since you don’t have anything to say greater than and what you did link is a small study that hasn’t been peer reviewed.
What makes wearing masks ludicrous while the population gets vaccinated? Why would we not want our highest elected official doing what the CDC says again? It seemed like we tried that with the last President and we whooped everyone’s ass in the cases and deaths category.
I’m guessing you aren’t very familiar with the history of US debt?
It’s more akin to thinking you won’t have to wear a condom to avoid pregnancy if your girlfriend gets on the pill. And then you deciding that because she made an appointment for next month you’re good to go right now.
Biden(‘s caretakers) and Fauci will let me know when it’s safe to remove my condom.
Can somebody read here?
I linked the study from December and I quoted the part.
It makes it ludicrous if it is forced. The government oversteps its boundaries.
Because all the hardcore trump supporters in New York City and in California were not wearing their masks riggggght.
What are you talking about?
Also, yes, in the absolute numbers, but who goes to absolute numbers and compares them? That does not mane any sense.
I am. I also didn’t like it when trump did it, I’m a small government guy. Everytime they spend like this, i find it bad.
This is a different argument than what was originally discussed. Biden wearing a mask despite being vaccinated is following CDC guidelines and setting a good example for others. It’s not a “I’ve been vaccinated therefore I can do whatever.” That would be a shitty example.
The government shouldn’t have masks mandated is different from is it good for someone who is vaccinated to wear a mask and social distance.
That’s odd coming from a person who doesn’t follow the advice of any of the people and has made that clear. You’re such a rebel.
I said Biden is a buffoon with other words. I also said it’s a bad example because it exemplifies that nothing will change if you get the vaccine. It also doesn’t make sense to wear it if you are sitting 100 feet apart from people and are vaccinated like he does. About that is what I said.
But yes, maybe I was unclear why exactly it sets me off. It pisses me off because he oversteps his boundaries and acts like it’s necessary for safety to do all these things. Spendings, lockdowns, mask mandated, schools closed, business closed,…
This is bullshit. I haven’t removed my face condom in over a year. I bet you remove yours when bathing, don’t you? Probably even let your significant other kiss your bare face. You disgust me.
I suppose if that’s what one thinks. But that doesn’t make it true. No one is saying if you get the vaccine nothing changes. They are saying get the vaccine and be diligent until we know more about the effects on the unvaccinated and as more people get vaccinated.
Anyone who has paid even a bit of attention should realize that getting vaccinated didn’t mean everything automatically went back to normal. If the populace is too stupid to realize that then we’re SOL anyways.
Biden wearing a mask is (again) following what the data and the vast majority of the medical people are saying to do. I don’t see how following those during a pandemic is setting a bad example.
What if I suffer from spontaneous ejaculation and don’t want some cisfemale to sit down on the copious amounts of ejaculate I leave behind and get herself pregnant?
It’s one thing to constantly troll but not sure why anyone needs to listen to you talk about ejaculate. But maybe that’s just that new Christianity confusing me again.
