The Walking Dead Season 2 Pt. 2

Not the whole speech but that I killed him for the group was a stretch. He did add that Shane took him out to the woods to kill him .

He should have led with that. Way to bury the lead Rick!

“Shane led me out into the woods to put a bullet in my back, so that he could steal my family. He let Randle loose, and then killed him…hoping to frame him for my death.”

Not

“I killed my best friend for all of you!”

Honest question:

What are Rick’s great decisions in the show?

1.) No one got killed in the Vatos debacle.

2.) The CDC was a good choice, it just ended poorly.

3.) He went bac for Merle after they left him in Atlanta. This effectively “recruited” Daryl.

4.) ?

I was a firm supporter of Team Rick, but unless he starts making better decisions he will not last as dictator / leader.

I feel like I let the Rick of the comics inform me too much about the show’s Rick…who is a bit of a fuck up.

Even in this last show the RV driver bought it saving him.

Robert A

I agree with this … I’m spoiled by the comic characters who I like waaaaay better than the show characters with maybe one or two exceptions … I like the Glenns almost equally and I like Herschels equally … I like comic Andrea slightly more than show Andrea, but the gap at the beginning of the season was a lot wider than at the end (funny that that’s about when Darabont got the boot).

I hold out hope they do Michonne right … so far so good though

The only thing I disagree with in your statement was Jimmy didn’t bite it because of Rick. Jimmy was a little too non-chalant walking around in the RV. He should’ve made sure they were safe on the roof then got out of the gaggle of walkers before casually opening the door. What’d he expect was knocking at the door? Girl Scouts selling cookies?

I may be over analyzing fictional characters a bit here, but Ricks speech comes off as more desperation than anything. The survivors don’t really need him, the only thing he really does is provide damage control(with his family providing most of the damage), the Grimes family however would be hard pressed to survive without Daryl(who presumably does most of the hunting and feeds the group), Glenn(who scavenges), and Herschel(for Loris pregnancy and under Ricks leadership someone is always getting fucked up).

Ricks choices this season haven’t really demonstrated good leadership(Randall should have stayed on the fence post, Randall should have been killed after the vote, He should have left Shane on the bus, keeping Jenner’s secret).

I think its a shame at how Rick’s character is being wrote in the comic he was a decisive likeable bad ass while in the show hes an indecisive dick.

No question Rick is not as strong as his comic counter but I wouldn’t trust any of the others to lead. His biggest quality over the rest was that he gave a fuck…not so much now after Lori mind fucked him into the ground.

Daryl (The Bionic Redneck) is the best option even if Shane was alive.

Shane would have killed everyone for a chance to sex up Lori on more time.

Oh I hope Lori follows the same route her Comic Character did.

How to Survive a Zombie Attack

 1. Don’t notice the 100+ zombies “creeping” up on you and your son in the middle of the night until they’re almost halfway up your ass.
 2. Don’t bother trying to run them over to thin the herd – you have ammo for a reason!
 3. Let the scrawny Asian dude sit hang outside the car blasting away with his shotgun while his freaked out gf swerves maniacally. Nothing but head shots.
 4. In fact, nothing but head shots for ALL the panicked people swerving about in their cars.
 5. Hershel packing 20+ rounds into his shotgun = nothing to worry about since he’s in the zone.
 6. Burn the barn you and your son are hiding in and hope someone comes to rescue you.
 7. ALWAYS forget to lock the door to your camper. If door is flimsy, make no effort to block entrance.
 8. Feel free to panic when zombies are bumping into your car. Everyone knows how fragile car windows are.

Man, oh man.

The only thing that will redeem Lori’s existence on this show is if she gives birth to a zombie baby like Mekhi Phifer’s girlfriend in Dawn of the Dead.

Not even if the kid eats his way out Alien style. She sucks that bad.

Hahaha come on some of this is part of the fun. Herchel’s insane blast fest was Awesome.

I was going to say I can put 8 shells in a chamber really fast but they showed him reloading and he took some time to get 3 shells in hahahahaha.

Herschel gets a pass for " old man crazy" moment. HAhahahahahahah

Seemed like Herschel was (the only one) grinning after Rick’s speech.

lol

Hershel will always get a pass in my book. He’s one of my favorites on the show, and not just for his “fuck it” attitude towards middle-of-a-zombie-shitstorm leg amputations with a pocket knife.

To everyone bashing Rick - did you watch the talking dead?

It seemed like they were saying Rick has finally changed is now going to (hopefully) be the badass he is in the comic.

And you really think T-Dog, Laurie, and Herschel’s daughter could have survived on their own?

Herschel’ s going to Die with style now that he is the lone old coot.

T- Dog is a freaking Ninja. I can go a whole hour and not even know he is on the show.

Last night Kirkman said they already were going to kill Herschel off, they had written and tried shooting a scene where Randall would kill Herschel, then decided they didn’t like it and cut the whole thing out.

He can’t be killed! He’s invincible!

FYI - in the new Playboy there is a 2-3 page comic that is an intro to Michone’s back story that is supposedly brand new.

Playboy still puts out Magazines??

The Talking Dead is claiming they have a big surprise story for season 3.

It would be funny if they try to move totally away from the books by killing everyone from the first season and start fresh.
Merle’s back from Merle’s own mouth
He said he lost 20lbs for the part. Why???

I wonder if he will be a fighter in the Gladiator ring the gov has??
I was almost certain that he would be cast as the Gov (i was obviously wrong). Merle having a missing hand would have tied in well (for those that have read the comics).

*** SPOILER ***

TAKE A SECOND.

Think The Gov was just the Gov. Does not mean the followers will not play a part in the scene you’re talking about. Lost 20lbs??? Could have been getting into fighting shape? I still wonder who will be fighting in the gladiator arena?
