Gotta agree

Wasn’t a big Daryl fan at first but he’s turned out to be a good character

Rick is too much of a goody two shoes but if his character evolves in the show the way it did in the comic watch out

Daryl is probably the toughest of the group and the most able to make it on his own and dosen’t have a ego like Shane that I’m guessing will ultimately get Shane killed

I’m guessing that his brother is gonna show back up and shit is gonna hit da fan and goodbye Daryl

Shane’s a fucking dick

I found this the other day. I kinda dig it.
Note: There be BOOK SPOILERS in this vid:

Last week’s episode was solid, but I think the last few seconds, with Rick giving the 1,000-yard stare pretty much straight into the camera, was a little over the top and seemed forced.

i can’t see this happening. It would be so implausible that this one-handed and unarmed (um, un-weaponed) dude would get out of the city alive and somehow cross paths with this same group however many weeks (months?) later.

Yes, I do know the character from the comics that Merle has the potential to “become” (trying to avoid spoilers here), but I just don’t think it’s going to happen, and I really hope it doesn’t.

Dunno, but at this point I believe Rick will figure out he’s not the father. I think whatever Doc Jenner whispered to him had something to do with Lori’s pregnancy. I doubt he just told Rick she was pregnant, otherwise Rick would have been all over it.

Jenner either told him that he saw Shane with Lori, or that he gave her a medical, ran some tests and found out she was with child and who the father was.
Here’s why I disagree with your Jenner theory: In the first scene of the first episode of season 2, Rick was trying to contact Morgan on the walkie talkie and told him they had been to the CDC and said that Jenner told him (Rick)…and just trailed off and said never mind. It didn’t matter.

Now, my line of reasoning is why would he bring that up with Morgan if what Jenner had told him had anything to do with Lori’s pregnancy? Plus, I’m sure, had that actually been what Jenner told him, Rick would’ve talked to Lori about it on the car ride at some point (between leaving the CDC and when they encounter the traffic jam S2/E1).

I think what Jenner told Rick has something to do with the infection and one of the reasons why Rick (when talking to Hershel in the bar) has given up hope…

However, as mentioned before, the writing isn’t exactly consistent so your theory may very well be true…
I bet you Jenner told him that they were all infected, and that at death all turn into walkers.

Until then, they just thought that those who were bitten turned.
I would hope that this isn’t it. I think I have mentioned it before, but if everyone had the virus, then any stillborn baby would turn into a zombie, yeah.

Pregnancy is dangerous enough without being eaten from the inside out.
no teeth
I don’t care. I don’t want a zombie baby with sharp fingernails trying to gum it’s way out.

If the virus can be transmitted through the air, then possibly into Lori and she miscarries, the virus could be altered upon death and the baby wont need teeth as it could be transmitted through the umbilical chord.

I have a sinking suspicion that what Jenner revealed is sort of “up in the air” and whatever it winds up being will not make a ton of sense.

Every one of these theories is plausible, but the writing jumps around enough that I kind of doubt the plot arc hasn’t changed several times.

This^ They never write these shows with this sort of thing planned out. They always make it up as they go along for the most part. Ever seen ‘Lost’? The season one finale could have been written bj JJ Abrams for all the goofy scifi-ish bullshit they shoved in it: the CDC is run by AI and blows up when it runs out of fuel.

Nu-ugh. That is totally how it would happen. You would obviously use a single explosion to sterilize the area. The flying debris means everything is contained.

What’s that? Bleach and Lysol? Kill time? Microwave radiation or a prolonged and very hot burn would actually be better choices? Yeah, well next your going to point out that some of the National Guard would have just walked inside the zombie proof building rather than have a Custer’s last stand outside. Like anyone in the military would think of things like “secure location” or holding some troops in reserve. You might even note that they would be smart enough to notice the only reason zombies would swarm the place would be the large numbers of delicious delicious soldiers milling around outside shooting those wonderful noisemakers.

There will be none of that.

I think the key is to jerk the wheel while mashing the accelerator to the floor, AFTER you hit the zombie.

Almost anything else wouldn’t flip the car.

That’s exactly why you would put an exploding building in the middle of a city.

Well, that answers why they haven’t used the smell technique again, as Rick used it when necessary.

Love how Lori is bitching about the blonde needing to do chick work LOL

Good episode IMO

Andrea was right and was vindicated; Lori has proved again how utterly retarded she is…

Rick’s manning the fuck up and Shane’s still crazy … I loved the incorporation of other zombie killing techniques with the knives.

Also, loved how there weren’t many characters in this episode … it really only focused on two things

3 more episodes until Shane dies … CAN’T WAIT!!

I don’t know for certain, but I do know Rick’s the protagonist, Rick and Shane can’t co-exist in the same space much longer, Shane won’t leave Lori because he’s delusional (i.e. he won’t walk away from the group w/o Lori), Rick won’t “let” Shane have Lori, therefore there’s really only one logical conclusion along this line: Shane dies. Probably this season.

But, some of the writing has left room for deviation…and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they string this story line along a lot longer than it needs to be strung along

yeah, I think Shane is liked by too many and he’s too big of a part of the story line to let him die.

Agreed, that and shane was suppose to die a long time ago so the story is already showing to be different.

If that was the case, then when Rick wasted those two in the bar, wouldn’t they have turned?

What is the significance of the two police officers that did/didn’t turn?
Phoenix44e wrote:

I think it was a bit of bad writing (overall this episode sucked ass in my opinion due to bad writing) but the significance was to hint that people who die without being bitten will still turn, and also give Rick the visual of two cops lying next to each other in death prompting his return for Shane.
