The Walking Dead Season 2 Pt. 2

Hershel explained in one of the episodes in the first half that there are natural protective barriers that surround his farm that has kept contact with walkers to a minimum … something like hills and swamp land that zombies get stuck in…

Dunno, but at this point I believe Rick will figure out he’s not the father. I think whatever Doc Jenner whispered to him had something to do with Lori’s pregnancy. I doubt he just told Rick she was pregnant, otherwise Rick would have been all over it.

Jenner either told him that he saw Shane with Lori, or that he gave her a medical, ran some tests and found out she was with child and who the father was.

Here’s why I disagree with your Jenner theory: In the first scene of the first episode of season 2, Rick was trying to contact Morgan on the walkie talkie and told him they had been to the CDC and said that Jenner told him (Rick)…and just trailed off and said never mind. It didn’t matter.

Now, my line of reasoning is why would he bring that up with Morgan if what Jenner had told him had anything to do with Lori’s pregnancy? Plus, I’m sure, had that actually been what Jenner told him, Rick would’ve talked to Lori about it on the car ride at some point (between leaving the CDC and when they encounter the traffic jam S2/E1).

I think what Jenner told Rick has something to do with the infection and one of the reasons why Rick (when talking to Hershel in the bar) has given up hope…

However, as mentioned before, the writing isn’t exactly consistent so your theory may very well be true…

I bet you Jenner told him that they were all infected, and that at death all turn into walkers.

Until then, they just thought that those who were bitten turned.

I have a sinking suspicion that what Jenner revealed is sort of “up in the air” and whatever it winds up being will not make a ton of sense.

Every one of these theories is plausible, but the writing jumps around enough that I kind of doubt the plot arc hasn’t changed several times.

We’ll have to wait and see how it pans out. I could be wrong, but the pregnancy theory is consistent with previous events… Don’t forget that Rick had talked at length with Morgan about finding Lori and Carl, so it’s plausible that he thought to mention it then didn’t.

As for why Rick wouldn’t talk to Lori about it, well Jenner may have seen or overheard Shane and Lori’s conversation in the CDC and told him about it. Jenner also had the ability to spot Lori’s pregnancy and identify the father from the initial security checks on the group. In that event, Rick would probably feel more betrayed by Shane, but he’s the type to keep his feelings in check for the good of the group. Rick’s source of hope has always been his wife and son.

Jenner would not have approved of an unfaithful wife- not after losing his own wife.
Of the two, the idea that the living are infected is the bigger bombshell (and less of a soap opera twist), but I can’t believe that nobody has spotted this before or that Rick would keep such valuable information to himself: it could cost lives if the group think they are safe around natural deaths.

Probably CDC’s fault. The scientist from season 1 probably has something to do with it.

Maybe Jenner told him that research the CDC was doing was the cause? Shady shit right there.

I would hope that this isn’t it. I think I have mentioned it before, but if everyone had the virus, then any stillborn baby would turn into a zombie, yeah.

Pregnancy is dangerous enough without being eaten from the inside out.

how dangerous is a baby though? I mean…think about that

sure it could move around a little bit…but its still a newborn or less than that

a toothless ball of jelly lol

emergency c-section

pop baby out

burn it or blow its head off

Not every virus (if it is a virus) and certainly not every bacterial infection is a 100% transmission in utero. The infection could also require a more mature nervous system, or some other explanation.

The comic is mum about what exactly caused the Zombie outbreak. COMIC SPOILERS at this link:
http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Zombies

AMC supposedly posted these rules on twitter. I have never been on twitter and pulled the site ( http://www.zombiezonenews.com/archives/amcs-the-walking-dead-rules-for-zombies/ ) up with a google search.

Zombie Rule #1: Ability to run is based on the amount of time a zombie has been undead, and how much decay has set in.

Zombie Rule #2: Zombies decay but at a much slower rate than humans, and it’s still possible to differentiate between young and old zombies.

Zombie Rule #3: Zombies are like lions: if theyâ??ve eaten, you can walk by them without fear, but a pack of hungry zombies will attack you.

Zombie Rule #4: The quickest speed of any zombie is a shambling run. see Night of the Living Dead. NO sprinters exist.

Zombie Rule #5: Zombies are not dexterous. They cannot pick up or use any items more complex than a rock or a stick.

Zombie Rule #6: Zombies have poor eyesight but they do have a strong sense of smell.

Zombie Rule #7: Zombies cannot speak but can communicate by pack mentality. The herd tends to move together if they sight food.

Zombie Rule #8: There is no overt recognition of people or places, there is a sense of familiarity that can dictate where a zombie moves.

Zombie Rule #9: There’s no known cause of the zombie mutation, but it’s suspected to be a virus or infection.

Zombie Rule #10: Once you’re bitten you’ll die and reanimate as a walker. How long it takes is related to the nature your bite.

So, no stillborn zombies…maybe.

Regard,

Robert A

Thanks for the no stillborn zombie theroy. As a female, this has sort of freaked me out more than any other theory.

No reason for it to freak YOU out.

Now, IF you like to simply take quadruple doses of the morning after pill (not the abortion pill), stroll around under weight(for maternity purposes), court high stress relationships, and just found a way to get yourself in a car accident in a world where there is no oncoming traffic or pedestrians you don’t want to hurt…THAN worry a bit.
