DAMN CHUCK YOU GOT KNOCKED THE FUUUUCCCCKKKK OUUUTTT!!!
What a rip off. We need another free rematch just like with the Shamrock vs Ortiz fights.
Another free rematch? why? cause Chuck got laid out? I guess for Chuck we can just keep extending it to a best out of 5, or even 7, series if he loses again.
People are just mad Chuck lost… its stupid They thought he was invincable…

This is the most satisfied I have been in a long time from a UFC card. Probably because this is first main event I have picked correctly for quite some time
I was also damned glad to see Keith “I’m pissed I have to fight this scrub” Jardine get knocked out. Anything can happen in a fight. Anyone at the professional level who thinks he’s too good to fight deserves to suck on some canvass.

LOL, no kidding. Yamasaki let Houston keep laying it on too. I think Jardine went out 3 or 4 times during that beating.

That was as vicious a beatdown as I have seen in the UFC since the end of the NHB era. Alexander has some crazy power. The first shot to the temple knocked Jardine senseless despite being partially blocked, and that uppercut that lifted him off the canvas was flat-out NASTY.

I got Jackson for the victory.
Jackson has a very good defense for Liddell’s punches. He tucks his chin in and covers his head with his mid-forearms to elbows very well. Whereas other fighters seem to use mid-forearms to wrists/hands to block. He also moves forward in his blocking which gave Liddell issues in being to close in range for his looping punches.
Along with his blocking in the first fight, he seemed to counter the counter puncher Liddell very well. As Jackson as said before, he hates being hit and beat Liddell to the punch while Liddell was trying to land combinations.
I don’t see much change in Liddell’s game. He used broken rhythm footwork in his second fight with Couture to break up the timing of punches and to get better angles for his own punches. But I don’t see this working on Jackson’s arm-blocking defense.
I see this fight with Jackson pushing the pace (kicks to set things up), getting inside Liddell’s punching range, and countering Liddell’s combinations by beating him to the punch.
As with Liddell’s last few fights, this one will be standing battle. But with Jackson winning the fight. This could be the first fight where Liddell is K.O.'d on his feet.
You guys don’t understand my point. I don’t care who wins or who leaves in a body bag. I want a longer fight for $39.95.
It would probably end the same way.

So when Tyson would Knock someone the fuck out in the first round you would be pissed?
Would you rather have had a boring 12 rounds of scoring points with jabs like De La Hoya vs Mayweather?
I would rather have a 2 minute knockout than it go to the judges any day… A couple of good hard fought rounds would have been fun but chances are two men with the punching power of Jackson and Lidell are trying to end the fight someone might just get KTFO early.
If the fight had been longer, we wouldn’t have had the pleasure of seeing Carmelo Marrero get his ass kicked. I am happy any time I get to see that boring stiff absorb a beatdown.
Wilson Gouveia can deliver some filthy leg kicks. That kid has a bright future.
He SEEMED to be showing some early signs of Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS). (One of the first signs is a slight slurring in ones speech).
Chuck has always been kind of lazy about his diction, so he does mumble alot.
I just can’t see where he has absorbed enough punishment to come down with PCS. He comes out of the vast majority of fights without a scratch on him. I suppose he could be getting concussed in training, but I haven’t seen anything (aside from his fights with QJ) to indicate he has taken an inordinate amount of abuse in the octagon.
By all reports, Lidell is supposed to be a really cool guy!
By the way…“ESPN” had a VERY interesting graphic, showing that the PPV money generated by MMA surpassed all sports, including boxing, by a WIDE margin.
I saw it previously here on T-Nation, and some people seemed to think that he was on some sort of opiate (perhaps for pain?)
His trainer addressed that claiming that all the promotional work LIddell had been doing had caught up with him. Once the trainer noticed he was slurring his words etc during interviews at press conferences he immediately sent him home to rest for 8 days. He said it was pneumonia. I heard this in the pre-bout interviews on Friday.

Everyone always has an excuse for him. Isn’t it possible he is just plain stupid like Lennox Lewis? Just about every interview I’ve seen with the two of them is painful to watch.
well maybe he had some virus, in the first fight with jack, he said he had a hamstring pull, he did better during the first fight, he was used to fighting wrestlers and ju-jit fighters with no chin, who would basically go down with one punch(exp for tito, jackson record wise did not look as good as lydell, but he went against great kickboxers in vernd and shogun

He has an Accounting degree from Cal Poly which is one of their most difficult majors. Anyone familiar with their Accounting program would know he is not stupid.

Well I wouldn’t call him or Lennox Lewis stupid. I’ve always thought Lennox to be pretty well spoken. Not sure why you think that.

Having a degree doesn’t necessarily make one intelligent in my book. Call me crazy, but I’ve had an argument with an RN about how many seconds there are in a hour. Apparently 60*60 is 120.
