While I am not as eloquent as SmartBulldog, I think it all boils down to this: Win-Win exchanges.
(Of course, most people would rather be in a lose-win or lose-lose relationship rather than being alone, but eventually the consequences follow, not to mention the less-than-maximum feelings…)
Yeah DAN C, “hope” is most definitely a negative aspect to have prevelant in a relationship. I have “hope” that she changes attribute X and Y, because then she would be perfect for me. But in the end it comes down to one simple rule I’ve learned over my life: “No one gives a fat flying FUCK about you but YOU.”
