Fundamentally, I am positioned where you are on chiropractic medicine. What I find bothersome is that you seem to want to discredit traditional medicine in an effort to elevate chiropractic medicine.

It is a poor argument to discredit one position in an effort to elevate the position of another. You might make a good politician. I prefer to let chiropractic medicine to stand on its own merits.

Yeah. For me its more a question of ā€œwhere does it fit in to the over all picture?ā€ than a one vs. other scenario.

I think people just like to make dichotomies out of schemas because its easier to think in those terms.

You are misinterpreting what I am saying. Go back and read my first response after my comment about the article and my experience with chiropractic care. I was responding to the below comment.

None of my comments were about pitting one ā€œpracticeā€ from another. I was merely dispelling the popular belief that doctors know all in regards to ā€œhealthā€. Most doctors get only 4 or 5 days of study on nutrition when going through all those years of school. My wife who is attending nursing school will have an entire semester on the subject next semester. So, one has to look at what is needed before deciding one ā€œpracticeā€ is better than another. There is a reason they are called a ā€œpracticeā€. It is because everyone they see is a guinea pig.

Do you read what you write?

Help us out here. Are you casting doubt of MD’s ability to suture, or bragging on your ability to suture?

Here’s another comment meant to disparage MD’s.
I ask you is this an apples to apples comparison? If not, why mention it?

How many chiropractors hold the life of their patient in their hands? An MD could be having that responsibility a good percentage of the time with their patients. Do MD’s make mistakes? Sure they do, and when they do a patient could very well be harmed. A nurse could make a mistake with medication. There are a multitude of variables that could jeopardize the outcome of a patient. Do chiropractors deal with the same number of dangerous variables?

Do you stand by your statement literally? From my experience that is hogwash. No MD told me to take pain relievers for my hips that were bone on bone. My family doctor referred me to an orthopedic surgeon.

Your comment was hyperbole to disparage MD’s, and you think I am misrepresenting your words. My recommendation to you is delete those statements that ā€œmisrepresentā€ what you are saying.

No for under 16, no for over 70.
I busted my foot in the marines, couldnt run for 2 years. 2 surgeries and 2 years of physical therapy didnt help. Listened to some people that chiropractors were a joke so never went.
Got out, buddy was a chiropractor, saw him for 6 weeks, and I was playing soccer weekly by the end of it. And never had a weekly crack or anything after those 6 weeks either.
Its no different than most other doctors. Ive had 2 surgeries for herniated discs, provided some temporary relief. Im not going to start a youtube channel saying orthopedic doctors are a scam.

Caveat: If you have one that claims they can cure stuff like cancer and ADHD and other non-skeletal related issues, run away.

And I know it feels good, and its fun hearing all the pops, but dont let them crack your neck. It will probably cause microtears in your carotid and eventually cause a carotid dissection.

I say the same thing!! It feels like my head weighs 20 pounds. Then he fixes it.
