unequipped 2x bwt bench presses are going to be pretty rare around here. and someone that can rep 250 for 40-50 reps rarer still.

No way in hell anyone posting on this board can bench 250lbs for 50 legit reps. Not happening.
you’re talking about benching 250 for 50 reps?
I know meat is strong as shit and puts up beastly numbers, i’ve followed along in his “Riding the Line Between…” threads but I dont see it happening. You would be so exhausted after 25 or 30 reps… No way anyone here is getting to 50. Its just not happening.
EDIT: MarauderMeat… do you think you could honestly do 50 reps with 250? (if you’ve even following this which you probably aren’t anymore. Not bashing you in anyway, I just assumed you were using those numbers as an example figure)

Okay, make one of the challenges “50 Rep Bench”
Whoever does it with the most weight % of BW wins…

I bet there are a ton of people here that couldnt even do 50 good pushups in a row lol
I’d run out of breathe on either, lol. My conditioning sucks huge balls.
hahaha.
it sounds like an easy task but I would imagine that most would struggle with 50 push ups in a row while touching your chest to the ground and going to full lock out.
No offense Greg, but I think you are underestimating things a little bit here.
I bet you would be surprise man… I bet we wont get many who would admit it but I’m sure quite a few people will try it and fail (not that there is necessarily anything wrong with that)

For the fuck of it Greg, about four years ago I started doing PU’s everyday to build up to a max in one minute. After about two weeks I went well past 50 in under a minute. It is hard at first but you build up stamina pretty quick. Skinny fuckers like me have an easier time though.

i came into this thread to just give my opinion and i think i said that a couple times. i didn’t come in to brag about my numbers. i stated that I felt that it’s more impressive to put up heavy wieght instead of just multiple reps with BW. that’s all i said. then i get people coming out of the woodwork talking shit about what i can do. I said it took me a lot longer to get to a 2XBW bench than it did to do 40-50 reps with BW. about a year ago for shits and giggles i did the NFL combine 225 test just how they do it- fast stopping short of lockout and i got to 50 reps and stopped… no liftoff, no spot. I’ve also, done an easy 315x20- no lift off, no spot. my point now and earlier is that i never train high reps and i hit those numbers easily.
I have a meet next monday and tonight was my last bench sesssion before then. i weighed in at 245 tonight. i worked up to 565 with the titan ram and then backed off to my opener on bench of 480 with a pause. THEN i did 250lbs (five pounds over my BW) for 33 reps. i stopped there because my pecs started to cramp from all the shit i did earlier. if i was fresh i could EASILY hit 40 and within a couple weeks of training that specifically could move it up to 50 reps.
I’ll, of course, post videos of these lifts so no one calls bullshit. I don’t even consider myself a good powerlifter…maybe fair at best.

Not sure they are “challenges” but moreso agreed lifts/feats to “make the board”. The first dozen or so should be easy:
Bwt bench press for reps
Dip bar dips for reps
Ring Dips for reps
Pull ups for reps
Chin ups for reps
1.5 x bwt. Deadlift for reps
1.5 x bwt. trap bar deadlift for reps
1.5 bwt squat for reps
push ups for reps
ring push ups for reps
box jump for height
standing broad jump
Top 3 results and you’re “on the board”.
Any chance of TNation buy-in here?
LOL what the ef is all this ring stuff and how the heck would someone do that broad jump? BTW, no one over 40 would have a snowballs chance in hell against me in a broad jump.
ok. post your broad jump.
rings? do some dips. then do them on the rings. prepare to be humbled.
My point about the dips is that hardly anyone does them.
How would you propose to do a BJ video that is verifiable? (LOL at poor choice of abbreviations but I’m leaving it haha)
If we were able to actually come up with some challenges and a good time frame to do them, how would we realistically score them? Video only and this would pretty much just be for bragging rights huh?

Uh…mark the jump point, jump from that point, mark landing…tape measure. simple. use chalk
don’t forget to spit. or swallow. whatever your preference
hardly anyone does dips? or ring dips? if you’re not doing ring dips, you should do them.
