Yeah I was kidding about the dingos. Wasn’t sure if you guys kept all the same pets as we do in the staes though.
I used to work at an Outback Steakhouse. This guy from Australia came in one time and gave me a crash course in Australia and how Outback was corporate bs. Big surprise. On a side note he said that Foster’s was made in Canada. Not one of my favorites anyway. I’m sure you guys don’t drink it either.
Anyway to get back on track we never got to animals so I was curious.
Sorry bro but it’s very real. We tend to stick to the coastline cos it’s so hot and dry in the 80% or so of our land mass in the middle. Also known as the outback.
Well worth seeing. Do a google on a town called Alice Springs if you’re interested. It’s almost dead centre.

th_underdog: while I’m sorry to hear of your Thunder’s passing, it looks and sounds like he lived a well loved and happy life.
Yes, he did. Ironically the longer and better life they’ve lived makes it harder when they go. I had him for over half of my life. For about two months, there would be days I’d walk in the door expecting the greeting, but no Thunder.
As obvious as it sounds, it is strange to feel that some of the discomfort is blunted by the fact that the loss is not as hard to deal with than it would be if it were a human friend or family member.
I saw your pups. Looks like you’ve got thrice the fun I had.
I had to put down one of my dogs 3 years ago this month. He was only 4 and it was harder than any human death I’ve ever had to deal with.
I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve never had to deal with putting an animal down so young. So I take it you had 4 to begin with? Or is that an old pic?
I had 4 for a long period of time. I used to rescue pitbulls and have had as many as 8 in the house at one time and dozens have come through over the years. However only 4 were permanent and now 3 are left
slim showed up one day sleeping in the garden.
he was stray, flea ridden, and very very slim. i chased him away a few times, but he kept coming back. once he came out of no where and bolted into the house and i chased him all around. he was crazed and starving and then slept in the garden for over a week just waiting to die. so i broke down and started feeding him. carmen and notah were not into it at all. that was four years ago. about two years ago a girl was in the backyard hugging slim. she used to live here. apparently slim traveled 80 miles over a year just to get back to his garden.
carmen and notah are no pushovers. i’ve seen them surround and tag team neighbor cats who come into our yard and just beat the crap out of them -just like wild kingdom. but slim’s got that silver tounge and it took two years but he finally wore ‘em down with a little of the ol’ divide and conquer.
i guess the first pick didn’t make it through. anyway pretend this is my first post.

found on the streets of san francisco when one two month old emaciated cat(carmen)ran out in front of the car. girlfriend and her sister had to keep it. pulling away a homeless guy started pounding the window yelling “NO ! NO! " thought it was his dinner or something when he said " no wait if you take one you have to take the other (notah).”

So this girl who (I guess) originally had Slim as a pet let you keep her?
I can’t believe the cat traveled that far and made it!
yeah he’s a survivor and i think it was pretty clear where he wanted to live. slim’s got balls btw, which is another reason why c&n were not into it.
the whole divide and conquer thing was wicked cool to watch…slim basically picked the beta cat (carmen) and went to work on her over about a year. he succesfully wedged the two so the tag team was broken and then he went to work on notah -who was not happy about relinquishing the alpha status at all and still isn’t. but for the most part they get along.
