good to have ya back DDAY ! fully understand the need to surround oneself with motivated and dedicated people.
Living in the middle of fucking nowhereville is grinding on me, as is the spa I lift at. The ONLY saving grace
is the fact that they allow me to use my bands, chains and weight releasers. “IF” i ever have to move back to
the big shitty I am going to have to find a true hardcore garage gym…24hrs of LA crapfat just will not cut it
anymore ;( Good luck and I look forward to more of your posts, killerDIRK.

I hear ya. I have the basement gym I can always use but only have 2 nights where I use it and take away from family is pretty big on my list right now. Not to mention I’m the only one lifting in it, nice but boring.
Went to another gym today to check it out, it’s closer than PF but it’s $35 a month v. PF $10 a month. Not sure I can justify the expense for 8 days a month. They do have a power rack and DB’s that go to 100lbs but still. Going to think on it some more.
Real hardcore gyms are few and far between here is Kansas City.
Tonight back
Warm up
foam roll/shoulder stuff
Front squat
135x5
165x5
185x5
205x5
225x2.5 (bar rolled and I dumped it)
Deads
315x5
335x5
355x5
375x5
400x5
Got home late and didn’t have much time. Got through the most important stuff.
Also made a decision on the other gym, I’m going for it. My son decided for me tonight. Our dog chewed a hole in my basement door (long story), anyway my 3 year old lays on the floor and cries for me to come upstairs. This really made up my mind, I’m shutting down Don’s bunk ass gym for now and going to the local community center. The good news is I still have it and available for when I can’t get to the gym during lunch. It sucks that I have a nice basement gym but time with my boy is way more important that $35 a month.
I have to give PF notice I’m leaving to cancel my membership. Here is my letter.
Planet Fitness termination notice for member 4660
Dear Planet Fitness,
First I wanted say thank you for having me as a member. My 3 weeks as a member of your fine establishment have been epic.
Let me thank you for your thoughtful distribution of free pizza, so tasty, I had to limit myself to half a pizza. The bagels were just ok, nothing personal, not really a big fan of plain bagels. Maybe I just missed out on the blue berry and cinnamon raisins, for future reference buy more of those. Tootsie rolls however are a nice touch, nothing better than grabbing a handful after a hard workout.
You?re probably wondering why I?ve decided to leave such a fine establishment such as yours. I?m just not getting results, I work hard 5 days a week focusing entirely on my core and cardio but I?ve gained 3lbs. It?s obviously no fault of my own, I?m putting in the work. It saddens me that I still cannot see my abs after 3 weeks.
Some helpful suggestions would be an ice cream bar like they have at Ryan?s, love that place. Did you know that on Wednesday they have a fried chicken special, never miss it. Another suggestion, you?re wasting space with all those weights, no one wants to get big a bulky, just add more treadmills and ab equipment. Lastly shake weights, where are they?
In conclusion please consider this my notice of membership termination.
Thank you and have a wonderful day.
Sincerely
dday
former member 4660 and owner of 3 new pounds.
^ Epic sir just epic
Well said DDAY ! When you cancel your membership do they revoke the three pounds as well, or do you get to keep
those as a consolation prize ? ? ?
Skwatz tonight
Paused box squat
95x5
135x5
185x5
225x5
Squat
280x5
300x5
320x3
Good mornings
135 3x8
BSS
30’s 3x5 per leg
And it was good.
Think I’m getting to the point where my F’d up back is holding me back when squatting. Walking out anything over 300, even with my belt tight, causes some considerable pain in the lumbar area. Can actually feel the spine pitch to the left. Back gives up way before my legs, felt I had at least 2 more in my legs but back was killing.
I decided to work on belt-less training going forward in hopes to help with those weaknesses, hence the low number on the GM’s. Suppose doing more lifts without a belt is the only way to get beyond my current levels. Also thinking some heavy leg press is in order. Tomorrow is day one at the new gym, pretty stoaked about that.
That letter was phenomenal…Tootsie rolls do contribute to T production hence the T in tootsie…

It’s the secret ingredient.
Nice squat WO good luck at new gym.
Reverse Hypers really helped my back. Seems the ROM tractions the lumbar spine and of course builds erectors.

Oh good one! I forgot about those, maybe the new gym will have either an actual RHE set up or the machine. Thanks.
Good work D. The letter was epic indeed.

70x6
80x6
90x3
Seated DB military press

seated BB OHP
105 3x8

Had to go through the typical new gym membership stuff today so didn’t get everything in before I had to get to work. Pretty sure I’m going to like it there even though there were no big dudes and no yoga pants, surprisingly PF had some nice yoga pants but what ever. Place was filled with old dudes BS’ing while sitting on machines, oh well more room for me.
Just poking my head in.
Epic letter. And still getting after it. Good stuff!

What’s up Strick, thanks for stopping by.
Officially falling in love with the community center. Went in today to do some arms and sprints. There were some really big mofo’s there today, only one guy who was a “body builder” but 4-5 guys looked like they’d just walked off the football field.
Everyone seems nice and there is even a crazy guy, what gym doesn’t need a crazy guy. He’s a older guy and at one time might have been really big, who knows but he wears ski gloves to lift and talks himself through lifts in a motivational old black southern baptist preacher voice. In short, he’s awesome!
“JESUS GUIDED THE JEWS THROUGH THE DESERT AND HE WILL GUIDE ME THROUGH THIS SET, YEZ AH, YEZ AH” Awesome.
Like I said, curls and extensions by the truck load and sprints. They have a track above two basketball courts in a square. I walked one edge then sprinted, then walk, then sprinted repeat 14 times.
Another great day at the community center, met a new friend Cody, he squats and squats right.
I did find a few things I don’t like about the place.
Front squat (worked in with Cody)
barx10
135x5
165x5
185x5 (belt)
225x5
Deads
135x5
225x5
275x3 (belt)
315x5
335x5
355x5
375x5
405x3 (see lack of chalk)
SLDL (no belt)
135 3x8
Again working on not wearing a belt and probably broke it out a little early just don’t want to take chances. Stupid S shaped spine.
Really annoyed by that 405x3, my hands were spent and cramping, had at least 2 more, what evs, next week.
This took way longer than it should have and had to cut out the last exercise, that’s on me.
3rd thing I don’t like about that gym, I only have 1 hour including drive time to get in and get back. Making it work, just figuring out the details.
Strong work DDay. Looks like this new gym is treating you right.
