Because he broke the law, and the prosecutor could prove he did so. Pretty simple. Everyone wants to whine about how the big guys get away with anything, but when it’s their guy that doesn’t, it’s all of a sudden a tragedy and miscarriage of justice.

“Show me the man and I will show you the crime” was a saying that came into use in Poland under Soviet rule. I see more similarities to this mentality than anything I’ve come to understand as American jurisprudence.

They have been doing things like this to ‘US’ for a very long time. Corrupted justice moves from the bottom to the top, not the other way around.
Follow the case, and it’s pretty clear. The misdemeanor is clear, and it was elevated to felony by being done in association with another crime.
12 of his peers, including Republicans, all found him guilty on all 34 crimes. This wasn’t a govt hit job where a paid off judge convicted him. It was a jury of his peers.
A powerful man was finally held to account for his crimes. But it’s your guy. And so now it’s a miscarriage of justice.
Funny thing is, everyone knows trump does illegal and shady shit like this. It’s what’s attractive about him to his followers- that he’s willing to bend and break the law to “MAGA”. But everyone gets up in arms now when he is held to account for breaking those laws.
This authoritarian asshole has publicly urged the undermining of our legislative and judicial branches of govt because they dared not bend to his will. And trumptards eat it up at the expense of our country. Stupid.
So far in my life the only things the left and right have managed to get on each other are a blowjob and payments to a porn star.

Having the affair and paying her off aren’t illegal. And no one is claiming he used campaign money to pay her off. As in, that is literally not being alleged. Maybe you should review the case.
This really needs an answer. Of note, the prosecution did not attempt to prove or allege another specific crime. The jury instructions did not require the jury to agree on what the other crime was. In short, this was not just figuratively but actually literally a conviction for a non-defined crime. That is frankly a gross violation of judicial process.
