The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 2)

This signified an end to a pretty long friendship of mine. During the pandemic we kept my son at home and did the zoom stuff. An old buddy came over to hang out a little, and thought it would be funny to start quizzing my kid on his Fox news informed idea of what was happening with schools, like my sons education was some kind of joke or fodder for those cannons of bullshit.

At that point I was like “Yep. This is done. Dude needs to go now.”.

Sorry, wasn’t online much over the long weekend.

Here’s what I saw:

I didn’t feel like the bolded part had anything to do with his question. Who’s the one party? The man? His question could’ve been answered without mentioning anything about finances. That was it. It just came across as another pity party for men suffering due to the current state of marriage/society.

Well yeah, and followed it up with, “marriage without sex is a friendship with bad financial outcomes for one party.” It sorta implies that a marriage without sex is lacking in some way, doesn’t it? Despite the fact that that can occur for a variety of reasons, many of which are not bad.

Not yet. Been with the mother of my son since we were 16 and am going to be getting married soon.

I really don’t care. Honestly. She won’t be the same when she’s 30, and she won’t be the same at 50. If she got in a freak accident and her face burned off or something horrific like that I’m still in it for life. Why make something a desire/priority of mine when I know time/life is going to be working against me? The typical marriage vow includes “for worse” and “in sickness.” Nothing about making a commitment to maintaining some level of attractiveness. I think it’s reasonable to wish for a partner to be healthy, but normally even if they become unhealthy (fat) that’s still what you signed up for.

Cause they’re comparing themselves to others? I don’t know. Pretty much every woman I know who did this did it to fit in a certain dress, look better than their bridesmaids or prettier younger sister, to look good on their beach honeymoon, or to look good in photos. Like honestly, I’ve never heard anyone say, “I want to look my best for my man.” It’s almost always about the photos.

You typically are pretty aggressive in standing by what you said. I don’t expect us to agree. That’s cool.

I will add this: that ^^ is a total stretch and not at all what I think most people are hoping to do, haha.

No… way…

Just read that on fox news … good bye women’s division

The future of women’s powerlifting:

What do you think is under those kilts?

I don’t think about other men’s junk.

“When USAPL denied Cooper entry into the competition, it did not have a formal policy that expressly prohibited transgender women from competing“ […] “Subsequently, USAPL revoked her competition card, which prevents Cooper from competing in future USAPL events.”

(Suit seeks to lift ban on transgender powerlifters – Minnesota Lawyer)

Revoking someone’s membership based on a retroactive ban on their participation, due to being part of a legally protected class, does sound pretty patently discriminatory.

I hope that chick on the rights balls aren’t as hairy as her chin.

Technically, every human is part of a protected class. Was she (I’m being polite here) banned because she is a transgender female or because she is a biological male? Men are members of a protected class as sex is a protected class yet, a sport can prevent participation based on sex. Which brings up the question, are sports segregated based on sex or gender. Transgender implies gender, not sex, so if a transgender female is banned based on her biological sex, and not gender, then where is the illegal discrimination?

Congratulations on begrudgingly doing the bare minimum.

Being transgender is itself a protected class in the jurisdiction where this ruling occurred, under the MHRA.

No. I just wanted it to be clear that I was acknowledging her pronoun choices while still understanding the reality of her biology.

As is sex, meaning biological men and women. A biological male whose gender is also male can be barred legally from women’s sports in spite of sex being a protected class.

Can you expand on this?

Until LGBT got added into the fold of “protected citizens”, every other protected class of citizens had no choice in whether they were in one of these categories (except veterans). I think the issue here is that HIS self-imposed victim status is demonstrably harmful to others… Under the same methods of which he is abusing, I will start MMA training and get in the ring fighting against biological women like Fallon Fox did. And when anyone says anything, I’ll sue them and say I’m the victim - even though I’m beating the shit out of women for money.
^This is where the whole “protected class” thing is wildly misplaced.

And its not even being addressed as a great victory for Women.

Its being addressed as a great victory for Transgender community, for LGBTQ, basically everything But women.

Its a victory at the Expense of women.

If the Trans community has shown us anything, it’s that they couldn’t care less about how their presence (and what they do) affects anyone else.

Winners find a way to win.

Even if you have to launch a legal attack/multi media campaign against the organization and specific policy.

So there! Nanny-nanny-boo-boo, he,she or they are better than you-ooo. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sex is protected, meaning you can’t discriminate against men just as you can’t discriminate against women. That covers everyone. Oh, what about those who are non-binary? They are protected as well. Also, race is protected. All races. So again, everyone. If you look at what are protected classes, you probably belong to more than one.

There isn’t a weight class for you in the US.

I disagree slightly as the L stands for lesbians, who are biological women and they will suffer as much as heterosexual women. This is no victory for them as they were never barred from women’s sports. There are many homosexuals who don’t like the additional letters added to the original LGB.
