The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 2)

I think panels like this hurt their cause by coming up with such ridiculous numbers. Like how do you seem less credible than recommending such a crazy amount of money?

I am guessing lawmakers (who would have to approve something like this) are laughing at the their proposal.

I identify as a black slave from 1854…i want my reparations now and with interest too

I also identify as a 70 year old disabled veteren that fought in a war, therefore, i want my full social security, i want my handicap privileges and my veterans benefits

It would cost more than double the entire yearly GDP of CA from what I read.

Lol for a state that is already completely insolvent and losing tax base by the week while gaining indigents by the week.

Brilliant.

I don’t live there, but if I did, I’d move if they passed something like that. Even if paid for over a long period of time like 10 years, what could they do to generate that income? 50% state income tax for the middle class?

I heard a different panel (I believe one working on a proposal for the federal government) came up with an estimate of 4 million for each reparation. I question where they are finding these people for these panels? Did they make it through school? Can they do basic math?

These type of estimates are what I’d expect out of some sort of social studies middle school project.

It’s simple: it’s not about reparations but rather punitive damages. Or to be more exact, it’s about revenge.

That is obvious to me, as well as many on these panels would be recipients of the reparations (they just want money). However, wouldn’t it make more sense to recommend something that is at least a little bit realistic? That has a chance of actually happening?

No amount is realistic. It’s all based on fantasy. Besides, these people are uneducated Marxist types. They have no clue about economic reality.

Must be tons of people running around with the cash to buy pre 86 full autos.

Or a lot more people than I realize have a Class 3 and 09 FFL.

Or he is a fucking idiot and full of shit.

He can see himself in mirrors. If he doesn’t care enough to exercise some self-control at the table, I doubt he’ll change just because I tell him he needs to.

I am so confused.

I detect a redundancy here

This was the first thing I saw on the link. I was just guessing as to what I was supposed to tell him.

This is an amazing interview with someone courageous enough to speak up.
I encourage also to read her article linked in the description.

Uh oh it seems someone hates the free market…

I’m not sure which is that. I’d assume neither is a principled supporter of free markets, but nothing you posted gave any indication of such.

The dude is autistic as all get out and thinks it’s his job to populate the planet but this may be a bit much.

That being said - the engineers I know that work for /have worked for SpaceX really hate it. Long hours and shitty pay (I have heard 70+ a week with no extra bonus or addition to base salary).
