The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

“The scooby doo porn parody did a better job with Velma/Daphne relationship”

Lol

“This feels like bad fanfiction”

I might actually check out this show, along with santa inc. They both look like mean spirited, cynical and obnoxiously unfunny shows.

But could they fit into “so bad it’s amusing” territory along the likes of the room, or thankskilling.

Gosh, I hope they do it and fund it entirely from San Francisco’s budget.

They should right the wrongs of the (great(great(grand)))father.

That’s awesome! I hope the eligible people receive their money and it isn’t just talk.

I’m sure all those Asian immigrants working in tech there will love paying for this.

That’s the spirit! Although you would have to ask each one individually to find out.

My family doesnt even go back that far.

Why is it awesome?

I believe the same committee, when asked about reparations for Native Americans (I think the question was actually asked sarcastically), said that’s a separate issue and besides, they didn’t suffer as much as blacks anyway.

I don’t see how it isn’t awesome, getting closer to closing that racial wage gap is a good thing I’m all for it.

Why did you bring up Native Americans?

At whose expense? Should we go after the asians’ checks first? It will surely be funded by taxes, which the wealthiest will pay the most (in both absolute and relative $$).

Unironically, this aligns with what Doogie said above:

Idk, ask San Francisco about where the money will come from. I absolutely love their intentions. It doesn’t bother me that some people will get free money for the sole purpose of slavery reparations.

In fact, I would be a lil jealous, but not to a point where I’ll say stuff like “I don’t need handouts” to make myself feel better because I’m not a miserable person. I’m not a resident of San Francisco, but if some of my money went to people who could use it, I’m all for it because it directly benefits the common person in some way. Sheesh, I mean with them living in California and all this inflation, they must be getting clobbered.

You mean the common black person? That is the only demographic this money is going to.

My wife’s family is Jewish. Do they get reparations for their multiple genocides?
My family is Irish. Do we get reparations for being enslaved?
Do the Japanese families in San Fran get reparations for post-Pearl Harbor detention camps? Should they also have to pay for the black families’ enslavement despite historically not being involved with this (they will be paying a disproportionate share towards the black families with this)?
When do the Slavic people actually get reparations (the root word of “Slave” is “Slav”, referring to the Slavic people)?
We’ve paid significant reparations to native tribes since the westward expansion… care to take a look at the state of US Native Reservations?

Almost every race, religion, and people has been enslaved at one point. To act like only one group has…

I’d invite you to do some math on what kind of racial income gaps would ensue after cutting a $5,000,000 check to all black long-term residents of San Fran.

Me too. I’d love for someone to cut me a $5,000,000 check for an injustice I’ve never lived through.

The real question is, for all of those groups you mentioned, do you desire reparations for all of them?

No. I desire reparations for none of them.

If we are going to give reparations to one, why not all? I’m sure you can see that this would lead to just endless free checks, considering most people are mixed race/religion/people.

Endless free checks don’t end well for anyone.

Yes, handing out unlimited checks to descendants of enslaved people will certainly benefit our economy. Remember the stimulus checks? Yeah, that contributed heavily to our inflation. I would like reparations from being an enslaved employee - where do I sign up?

If this is successful I see it as a “test run” or “rough draft”, for other future incentives that may benefit the common man. What I am saying here is maybe this can lead to something that can benefit us all.

“Endless free checks?” Where and how did you draw this conclusion, please explain yourself Andrew. What led you to say this? Did you find any more information on this process that I don’t know of that mentions endless checks?

@Euphemism2009 how did the stimulus checks lead to inflation, please explain that process since you seem to be informed on it.

“If you were to give reparations to everyone whose ancestors had been slaves, I suspect that you would have to give reparations to more than half the entire population of the globe. Slavery was not confined to one set of races.” - Thomas Sowell

Perhaps not endless, but I agree with the above statement by a man much smarter than I.

Why do you agree with this quote Andrew?
Do you believe USA or rather San Francisco should give reparations to people of other nations?

Please explain yourself.
