The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

Again, like I asked in your thread, WHO is telling you this? Idiots online? Dumbass kids? I really don’t think rational adults would call you a “psychopath” or anything similar even if they don’t agree with you. Ignore the idiots and you’ll be in a better place mentally.

I think a large part of the problem is the fucking authorities treat people like children. At the start of the pandemic, they discouraged people from wearing masks because they were afraid supplies might run out for medical staff. Then they flipped when the free market showed them otherwise. Even companies from unrelated industries were able to rapidly scale up or divert existing operations towards mask production because they saw the profit potential.

They should have just fucking stated their main rationale instead of adding on shit like “masks may be detrimental because they give you a false sense of confidence” and the like. Enough people would have understood and complied.

The anti-vaxxers where I live have long been harping on the aforementioned mask issue and now they’re citing this as a major reason why they distrust the government when it comes to the vaccines.

You saw the run on toilet paper in america at the start of the pandemic, right? the fuck did that have to do with protecting yourself from covid?.. yet everywhere was sold out. It was literal weeks to months until many people could find rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer anywhere. Hospitals are businesses and did not carry large unused stores of PPE… they relied on being able to order when they needed… Our dumbass selfish AF society would have 100% bought out all the PPE available at the beginning if told it would help. Better to have 5 years worth of masks for my family of 4 than to provide hospital workers masks for the next week during a worldwide pandemic!

The exact same thing happened over here as well. It’s not just an American thing. I don’t even know why it’s always toilet paper lol. That includes the other shit like price gouging for hand sanitizer etc. These were short term events that are expected because there are always going to be a percentage of assholes in any society. The long term repercussions for not being transparent with the public have proven to be worse.

Because there are few things that people are individually responsible for that will lower quality of life more than running out of toilet paper.

“Price gouging” prevents(to an extent) the first person that shows up from taking all of whatever. (edit: just supply and demand stuff, really)

Price gouging is a result of demand exceeding supply. The first assholes who buy up all the stuff are the cause of this, not the other way around.

Can’t really call it price gouging, then. “Supply stripping?”

Which is why “price gouging” is not a problem. No “price gouging”=less supply for even more people

It’s a response to an increase in demand. The ones who are most likely to hoard essential items would move first and would have already bought up their stuff before the prices increase, which would mean people who buy things in moderation over a longer time frame are the ones who end up paying the higher prices.

Which are opinions.

Yes.

Yes, as opposed to having nothing to buy.

I wasn’t arguing against this. Read my reply to your first reply to me on this topic.

Well no - the first asshole is a result of the external shock event which caused demand to exceed supply … the external shock (demand or supply) is the cause

There are a lot of people who think she’s smart. Whenever I hear her speak, she comes across as having the intellect and knowledge of a high school student. She managed the rare achievement of making Joe Rogan appear smarter than his guest.

While 13 service members died this week for the flag, we had this woke cretin stating she took down the American Flag in her classroom because it made her uncomfortable. I wish I could say what I really want to happen to this biological stain.

She is free to do as she pleases. Not sure what she had to do with service members dying tho.

It has everything to do with it. She is not and should not be free to do as she pleases in this context.

She is a taxpayer-paid government employee who is tasked with the development and well-being of many children for many hours on most days. This is a gross dereliction of that duty and a complete inversion of what I expect out of a public educator.

It has everything to do with the sacrifices made under the banner of the American Flag. The men and women who’ve served and paid with life, limb, mind and soul have done such an incredibly good job over the centuries that our environment is safe enough for ridiculous ideas like this to take hold.

I’m fine with people having self-centered perspectives devoid of conscientious thought. I’m not fine with my tax dollars being spent to pass it on to the next generation.

What do you personally expect out of a public educator?
