The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

As a (primarily) conservative leaning voter, I hate the current state of the GOP and the morons that are fueling it.

The GoP in South Dakota did the same thing with rec. MJ. Voters passed it via ballot initiative. The GoP legislator nit picked the initiative and found a way to not legalize MJ. I am starting to think the GoP doesn’t favor democracy.

GOP possible slogans for 2022?

ā€œTirelessly working against the will of the peopleā€

ā€œWe’ll take away your vote because you aren’t very good at itā€

ā€œWe love America. But don’t love Americans!ā€

ā€œFighting against cancel culture by canceling your votes.ā€

The whole war on cancel culture, and the idea that conservatives haven’t historically been cancellers is ridiculous. I remember growing up, that in my family’s circle (all Christian conservatives), cancelling was the shit. They just called it a boycott. Disney, Target (because they were pro LGBT), Harry Potter, Halloween, rap, metal, video games, and shit they even wanted skate boards banned because of skate culture. Some cognitive dissonance IMO.

Yup. Personally, still on the fence about whether I want it legalized or not, but our gov can’t make up her mind.

ā€œNo masks! South Dakotans can make their own choices!ā€œ

and then…

ā€œNo weed! 1/2 said yes to recreational and 2/3 said yes to medical but they all made the wrong choice!ā€

They only want the freedoms they like.

Same, sadly.

This actually doesn’t surprise me, and it’s well known that young people make stupid ass decisions that lead to easily avoidable consequences lol (not a comment on masks, just a fact of life).

Sad but true.

I’m actually 100% surprised that music was branded colonialist after math. I would have thought it would be the other way around… But apparently objective reality doesn’t exist so…

Seriously. Some of the dumbest ā€œsmart peopleā€ out there.

They call musical notation colonial/racist/white supremacist but are still willingly using English for speaking, reading and writing.

Not saying that isn’t the case. Remaining consistent is difficult for most. I see it on the left too (we want legal weed, but you can’t have your guns).

Ebonics will be coming back soon.

What the heck is this? Care to summarize it? I’m not going to bother reading the link so don’t feel obliged to do so on my behalf.

It never left, just the name changed to AAVE: African American Vernacular English.

The Oxford music program is too white. And classical music is colonialism.

I feel that if they implement these changes, that their music program will lose credibility.

As a tangent, I think the reason why the Academy Awards ratings have fallen off a cliff is that they gave into a vocal minority of woke activists. They implemented rules about what type of movies could win. In doing so, they lost credibility to pick the best movie (which is what most people care about).

I don’t watch it anyways, and I heard this year was particularly bad (some things not their fault). However, I think the year after year decline is largely due to them implementing woke policies.

Who hasn’t?

I see. Thanks for the recap man.
