I have to believe a sociology, gender studies or some other woke major came up with this and not people from the math field. I know a math teacher and she sarcastically said to me, “I never knew when I asked students to show their work I was being a racist.”
These are people who were not good at math, probably hated math, certainly don’t value math, who are trying to come up with excuses for the poor performances of certain groups when it comes to math. And it’s amazing how what they say is couched in Marxist language. What a coincidence. You can often substitute white with capitalist and black (or African) with Marxism.

I think the only thing in the list @treco posted that may be accurate is the correlation with language proficiency, which I think is the reason why Asians with languages like Mandarin and Tamil generally have an easier time since there’s a lot of rote memorization and some pattern recognition required for the characters. Shit, even where I lived (100% Asians), when we had trouble with certain math problems, it was common practice to ask the kids who scored the highest in Mandarin for help.
But, IME, doing well in math is mostly just about practice provided you actually paid attention in class. Even up to Further Maths. Failing E Maths either shows laziness or that the individual has some condition like severe ADD or such a low intellect that it amounts to a legit mental disability depending on where he/she lives.
Which is only a problem because teachers don’t feel like teaching proper English.

Our English teachers in secondary school weren’t even very proficient in English until they finally decided to get foreign teachers from countries where English is the main language BUT we preferred English classes over Mandarin ones even though most of us spoke either Mandarin or a Chinese dialect at home because Mandarin at that level is fucking BORING.
Almost half the time in class was spent reciting phrases and idioms over and over again. But it was much easier to score well in written exams since Mandarin at that level is mostly about memorization and regurgitation.
This is absurdity. With regards to your post in the other thread about inner cities and accountability( “the answer lies somewhere between pulling yourself by the bootstraps and maintaining the status quo”) which I completely agree with, it was “capitalism” in the form of globalization where MNCs set up bases where I used to live.
There were not only more job opportunities, but also more complex jobs which also required higher educations, which they invested in with collaboration with the government, which led to more people becoming educated and more institutions for higher education being built. More infrastructure was built for the purpose of “profit maximization” through increasing efficiency and enhancing their operations, that had the side effect of bringing people out of poverty and improving their standards of living.
Sure, there’s lots of shady shit going on along with the legit stuff with the government and such corporations, which is why I think that “pure capitalism” cannot work (because it really doesn’t even fucking exist) unless there is truly ZERO government intervention in the market so it’s also the government’s job to balance the wealth gap because they had a hand in creating this.
And there was supposedly “bad” stuff like child labour in factories but IMHO this issue is overblown since I’ve worked at one as a child for some time and it was a great experience although the issue of different, lower wages for kids should be rectified.
I believe they should stop making vanilla ice cream since white is a racist color.

I agree with all of this, and would add that that their ice cream is shit too. Haagen dazs is the better up brand supermarket ice cream, and that’s not even approaching the foot of the mountain of ice cream.
