It’s the whole of Iberia … not just Spain. I’m mostly Portuguese and a little Basque … I’m almost as not white as they come … my French side is problematic … on the fence about my Sardinian side…

Easy to see Africans appear to be a singular phenotype, while Asian Indians, Bangladeshis, and Pakistanis are totally different. Maybe the Arabian peninsula difference would fit the sarcasm better.

So many stupid stories come out of Florida which is strangely enough a state that is often listed as must win for our Presidential elections. I feel like that is telling us something.

It’s more that Florida has the third largest population in the country and can be flipped red or blue (unlike CA).
Also, having lived in Florida for over for years now, the heat will make people do crazy things. And, swamp-billy is a real people group.

Interesting graph, especially the fact that Sweden and the US have similar death rates and decline in GDP despite the polar opposite approaches to dealing with virus.
I have always thought the response to this thing has been purely political. No denying the severity of the virus in certain populations, but the economic impact will disproportionately affect those on the lower middle class to poor end. When that happens, a change in “leadership” will be called for, even though current leaders likely had minimal effect on the overall medical outcome.
Ridiculous. While the rest of the world is still grappling with this thing, Kiwis are enjoying a fully opened economy. The writer is a moron. They will have a fully V shaped recovery and are by many accounts already there.
