Update on the brilliant leadership of the Minneapolis City Council:
Minneapolis council members calling to defund police spend $63G on private security details after receiving death threats
The security details reportedly cost the city $4,500 a day in taxpayer dollars.
So, I live in the city limits of Minneapolis and my tax money is being spent on private security for the entitled, but, not on a police force to protect all? So, no avenue of protection for me, but, plenty of protection for those who have access to my tax money? Damn, now that is a fair policy for every citizen.

Of course they aren’t public, take that tax money and use it how you see fit, it doesn’t matter about the serfs, fuck them, they are stupid anyway.
The threats reportedly came after the council members were vocal in their calls to defund the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD).
Great city to live in, Minneapolis. Cannot wait to move there.

This points to the real problem in Minneapolis, and it’s not the cops.
I read that no one who is getting private security because of death threats has even filed a police report about them.

Doesn’t gringo apply to whites in general, while yanqui is the term for an estadounidense? That’s the case in Cuba, Argentina in Chile.
I know that gringo in Brazil it’s used for all foreigners so Mexicans famously freak out after finding out that they’re referred as such.
Speaking of Brazil, it’s interesting that we’re now modeling our policing after thiers; police and private security for the wealthy, chaotic favela’s ruled by heavily armed gangs for the unwashed masses.

Don’t forget social workers.
I really feel bad for them. When they talk about these new social workers/crisis councilors, I picture these very sweet, very naive true believers. In no time there will be reports of these social workers getting stabbed by schizophrenics or beaten to death trying to intervene in domestic violence situations.
I read that they would have armed peace officers. Which to me sounds like someone who is more likely to use a gun. I wonder where they are going to get all of the money needed to fund these dreams. It’s not like they can spend state and federal money that was earmarked for the police anyway they see fit. There is no guarantee that they will continue to get that money if they don’t have police. It probably won’t happen anyway because most people will not vote for it.
I’m hopeful that people will begin to realize that local elections have FAR more impact on their day to day lives than the president.
Want to make schools better? Run for school board.
Want to have cleaner cities and parks? Join the planning council.
Want police reform, reduce spending, etc? Join city council or budget committees.

We need to start a “Tragedy Thread” because the City of Chicago leadership has moved beyond just being stupid. It is a national tragedy and has become a shining international example of incompetence. For several years now, Chicago has led the way with multiple shootings every weekend and children dying from violence. How this administration can stand by and allow children to be killed is criminal. You have the second largest police force in the US and access to the National Guard, yet you allow criminal gangs to kill with impunity. You blame the killings on “ gang gun violence”, well, you know what? Gangs have to eat, sleep, and shit somewhere. They don’t just spring out of the ground like poisoned mushrooms, kill children and shrink from sunlight during the day. Find them. Burn them out.
Chicago reminds me of my time in Somalia. Each day decent people would try to survive on a dollar a day (if lucky) , try to find any type of food and the women would walk miles to find water for their children. At night, they would hide like rats, trying to avoid gangs of savages who first raped you, raped your children ,and then shot you to death, (if you were lucky). There was no government and the police were no existent, that is if could find one that was not on the Warlords payroll. I see no difference in Chicago. How does the Mayor and city council stay in office? Where are the protesters now? Where are the progressive “leaders” screaming for change?
I guess defunding the police and tearing down statues are more important than a child’s life. The city leaderships in Seattle and Minneapolis are basically just stupid, ass kissing fucks. The leadership of Chicago is criminal. Maybe, there is a lesson here. Poor neighborhoods in Chicago mean nothing to the current progressive “cultural movement”. They don’t stand up for change in Chicago, what makes you think they will stand up for you?
You need to read Chicago news if you want to learn Lina Nunez’ name. She wont get a moving celebrity montage or any presidential candidates showing up at her funeral.
On fiscal grounds alone, Chicago is a failing city. It turns out that voting yourself more money for decades has consequences for the city. There are also parts of the city that are not part of the USA. I’ve used the term “warlords” for a while now, because large portions of the city have been under the governance of warlords for some time now. It was like that when I was growing up nearby too, but nothing like today.
This is what happens when policy after policy is implemented with no regards to the outcomes left in their wake. Decades of “Sounds Great!!!” progressive policies, piled on top of each other, have looted the city more effectively than any mob could have. We have police who can’t chase criminals and prosecutors who can’t put criminals in jail.
Chicago is a man-made disaster, 100 percent.
A big reason why nothing changes is that people have been conditioned to accept these things as normal. Also, people on the left, black and white, don’t know what the underlying problem is or, if they do, are afraid to address it.

I think that explains an awful lot. The minimum wage law is a great example. Nobody (well, except Thomas Sowell) cares if it helps or hurts poor people. Asking the question is discouraged.
The point of the policy was to use it as a cudgel to beat your opponent with. You’re against My Well-Intentioned Progressive Policy? Well, then you must hate whoever appears to be helped by it. That’s been the con for decades now.
Here’s the real kicker. Imagine you traveled back in time to 1960 Chicago and met with the local leaders of the Klu Klux Klan. In this meeting you describe the conditions present in the black community of Chicago in the year 2020. The Klan members of 1960, seeing the high rates of literacy, intact black families and overall increasing metrics of success in the black community compared to decades prior, would probably see the outcomes of today as a tremendous success. It is hard to imagine a true racist from my grandparents era who would not be pleased with present-day conditions in Chicago.
They would be pleased that their plan worked.
