I…Wh…nah, I’ve got nothin.
I would expect the ‘woke’ to remember that blackface is always inappropriate. Maybe even more so with poop. This seems like a troll
If it isn’t, may God have mercy on us all.
Troll job. She talks about it as a tribute to God and doesn’t mention anything about black people. She’s laughing much or all the time and saying do you think at all? And the person who tweeted it’s headline is nothing posted is serious or well-researched but you should share it like it is.
Going to guess that’s not shit either.
Indeed, I could have performed better due diligence on it, but it seemed a fit for the stupid thread. It still is, even if it is a troll.
She covered herself in poop to troll others, that’s one of the requirements for a hall of fame stupid thread post.
Oh no doubt. Except I’m going to guess with the way she’s laughing at the camera and stuff that it’s not even shit. I mean maybe it is, but you can tell she isn’t actually trying to spread the message she says because she is cracking up the whole time.
It’s probably mud and they thought it would be funny to say she was covered in shit but who knows. We’re obese and not just gluttons for food but also attention.
Ain’t that the truth.
Better get physical copies of your favorite books and movies.
It’s the 21st century equivalent to book burning.
Are they going to pull Boys in the Hood and Do the Right Thing?
A private company not including a movie in it’s catalog because they feel it has racist aspects… Is equivalent to book burning?
Careful you don’t pull a muscle stretching so hard.
Not to mention they say they plan to bring it back into their catalog with an epilogue (or similar) discussing the racism in it.
“There was little criticism of the film when it was released, though in 1939 an editorial board member of The Daily Worker, a newspaper published by the Communist Party USA, called it ‘an insidious glorification of the slave market’ and the Ku Klux Klan.”
I never saw the movie or read the book. I didn’t read the article. But, shouldn’t a movie that takes place in the South during the Civil War have racism in it? Are we going to pull Roots because there is racism in it? Like I said, I’ve never seen the movie so is the movie itself racist or is it about racism within the movie (because of when it takes place)?
All I know is, the hypocritical PC/kancel kulture klan better not mess with Westerns.
Me neither. I would guess that this racism they are talking about is of the blackface, minstrel show type specific to depicting the black folks as caricatures as opposed to real humans.
Hattie McDaniel did win an Oscar.
IDK, i can see the argument. The movie romanticizes the confederacy and shows what a happy comfortable life southern slaves led. We dont condone movies about nazis and romanticize 1930’s germany and show the jews there as happy and treated well, etc.
I think an epilogue discussing the culture and times when the movie was made is appropriate.
How stupid do you have to believe the average person to be if you think watching Gone With The Wind will produce any kind of harm in the world?
I suppose I can imagine a person with mental disabilities watching an 80 year-old movie and somehow concluding he should become more racist and then put those beliefs into action, causing harm to others that might have been avoided had this person not watched Gone With The Wind. And even that seems like quite a stretch to me.
Any adult capable of functioning at the lowest level needed to stay out of jail and take care of your basic needs is at no risk whatsoever from watching Gone With The Wind.
I hope not. Fishburne was great in Boyz n the Hood.
