Interesting about the deload before the meet. I’ll probably do something light and easy the first couple days of the week and take the last 3 days off before. I don’t know if i could just completely not train for a full week while i am healthy. That would drive me crazy.

^really like this photo, anybody know who that is in it? Its slipping my mind.

ME Bench

Was alone for most of today, so I did reverse band with grays rather than in the shirt. Got 505x1, for a small PR (no video, sorry). I need this, bench has been ticking me off lately. Yall know the golden rule of powerlifting, if 2 lifts are going up, 1 is stalling or back tracking.

Alright enough complaining. Time to smash it.

Still good lifting, Dixie. Whenever I have issues with bench, I try to add more back and trap work. I have found this to help. Lately I have been trying to do chin/pull ups everyday I lift, even if it’s just 15 or so. (Obviously they are assisted, haha)

lol @ being bummed about only benching 505 hahaha

what are you planning on benching in your meet? have you thought about your openers yet?

^No doubt, most guys want a 505lb deadlift (me).

Awesome work DF, best of luck with your meet.

nice work on the reverse band bench

Pete - thanks coach

Not positive but I think that’s Matt Rhodes of EliteFTS in the picture. He’s fucking massive like 6,3-6,5 and pretty damn lean at 308 I think.

Looking forward to you doing some damage at your meet man I strongly recommend you bring some ammonia or nose torque for your dead lifts, first meets are often more draining than you realize until afterwards and anything that can punch you in the brain like those can brings your head back into it real quick. Here’s to your 9/9.

The hippy is up in the southern domination. Lolz.

Nice work lately bud!

9,000 lbs!!!

this has been frustrating for me too. 6 months stuck on the bench fucks with your head.

@Ink - come here and tell that to my face :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

pbclax - get out hippie! jk thanks bud

my lovely internet mom - over 90,000 is the goal

nlmain - its the darndest thing

Training today

LOLWUT? I needed a day off, so I took a day off and saw a movie with my family, girlfriend, and her siblings (much younger siblings), then jumped on a trampoline with the kids, played air hockey with the kids.

I also mowed the lawn, but that wasnt fun.

I will do lower accessory tomorrow, bench on monday, deadlift tuesday, then vacation, then sprint for a week, prep for a week, then hit it July 30th.

Lets do it.

Lower Accessory

Good day. Body felt like crap but mentally felt great. Good news. We are back on track folks.

Yea, meet around the corner! Those in the SPF in Rogers are cool, kinda crazy ones though. They will definitely treat you right!

Oh crap, can’t view the videos on this dang iPad… ;-p

You’re 273? Damn. You’re a big boy.

Do you have your numbers picked for the meet? And a handler? God, meets are such a rush. We’ll both be competing on the same day.

pbclax - that remains to be seen as I just recently started seriously pulling sumo in my suit

lilpower - lol

kpsnap - 6’2", 273, yes mam I have been called big before…I do have some numbers I am tossing around…a handler? Enlighten me…

A handler is someone that helps you at the meet…helps you put your gear on, helps you call your 2nd and 3rd attempts, tells the judges your numbers, etc. Basically powerlifting’s version of a butler lol.
