The Southern Domination

DUDE, that’s a fucking SOLID pull. I was sitting here, all tensed up shouting in my head “Don’t hitch that mother fucker!” and you just slid that bitch into LWI gear. Nice fucking job man. Bravo

I called my deload off and I hit a pr lol.

Pull looking Beastly brosef.

Re: the shirt, sounds like you need a bigger one or to put some more weight on the bar so you can get it down.

Re: deload, the only deloads I have done were after my meet and when I was injured.

ME Bench

Took a week off from the shirt, did floor press, took a page out of others books and set up plates so that the weight hits them right as my elbows touch down, save myself the trouble of crushing my elbows. Worked up to 410x1 with some ish on the side, spotter did great with hand off but decided to pull a bit on the way up…funny story, did not realize how close I was to getting tea bagged till I saw vid afterwards. Ah well.

Warm ups

SR

Floor Press

185 x 5
225 x 5
275 x 3
315 x 2
350 x 1

395 x 1
410 x 1 ish (video)

Tricep Death
215 x 25

DB Press
100 x 15
90 x 15
80 x 15

HS Shoulder Press
6tp x 3 x 8

Lateral Raises

Pushdowns
8 x 10

Fly Machine
2 x 25 for the burnz

I like that stacked plate idea. Ive only done floor presses one time… do you feel like they really help out your bench a lot?

That’s a good idea dude, hadn’t seen that one yet. Maybe I’d do that when I get over 400 like you, fucker.

And dude, that was nowhere NEAR getting teabagged. Unless the dudes junk was hanging down inside his shorts and you were meat gazing and knew it was close. NTTAWWT.

LWI

So this is where everyone else keeps their training logs? Interesting.

DF- When is this July meet?

And maybe I’m a little late to the deload discussion party, but I’m in meet prep mode and I deload every fourth week. It tends to sync up so that the times that I’m starting to feel like my body is falling apart, I’m a workout or two away from the deload.

I hate deloading but I don’t think I would make it through this training without them. It wasn’t always this way for me though. When I did most of my training equipped I didn’t really feel the need to ever deload. I also didn’t need dedicate much time to stretching, foam rolling and warming up. Seems like most of the people saying they don’t deload unless they’re injured or just did a meet mainly compete equipped, no??

greg - I prob have not done them enough to see any direct carryover, but it makes you stronger so why not?

ink - LOL…all I got

buckeye - the meet is July 30th

Back and biceps

Rear Delt Monster (horribly bastardized from Meadows…whatevs, it destroyed my rear delts…all done as 1 set)
60lb x 60 swings
30lb x 40 larger swings
15lb x 20 full ROM raises

Low Face Pulls
4 x 10-15

Wide Grip Cable Row
4 x 12

DB Row
115 x 4 x 15

Cable Curls (various grips/handles)
9 x 6-10

Lat Pulldowns (various grips)
6 x 10
1 x drop set x 4

Do you really think you need to de-load one week out of every month? That’s a lot. Although I know that’s what 5/3/1 prescribes. I’m almost 46 and don’t de-load nearly that much. Actually, I think I’m more likely to need a break when I’m training heavily in gear than when I’m just raw. It’s so taxing on my CNS in the gear. I tend to train mostly raw and then throw the gear on 4-6 weeks out from a meet.

And DF. You were nowhere near getting teabagged. Get a female spotter next time. Then you won’t mind.

lol no comments on the lift, just on my hyperbole-ridden description of the spotter…

Great lift Dixie!

Spotting on bench as a short female sucks. I don’t usually have to, but SH’s brother asked for help the other day and I realized that I pretty much have to straddle the lifters head and end up with my sweaty crotch about 3 inches away from their face. Awkward.

I started to explain my deloads here but it turned into an epic novel about me and my training so I decided to copy and paste the entire thing over into my training log so as not to completely hijack Dixies and make it all about what I do. Here’s a link to the page if anyone is interested…

peeing all over this place to claim my territory.

DF - you make the singlet look nom good!

awesome on all those PR’s especially the sumo pull. as Ink mentionned no hitching that was as smooth as Ky.

BG - I dont mind good hijackings, I learn from em

nlmain - interesting metaphor, and thank you for the compliment!
