Solid shit man, fuck. What height do you set the pins when you RB bench with mm’s? I use the same cage you got, and am just curious. With the “strong” bands from EFS, I think I set them 2 or 3 from the top. I think.
Only time I used the strong bands, I choked em around the top. With the monster minis, those were about eye level, which is 3 from the top (I think).
Ok thanks dude.
Quick-ish session today, was worn out from workin this morning. Took the squat suit and finally figured out how to pull in it. Got 605 in it, with some still in the tank.

There is some seriously weird shit going on in that video. Looks like you’ve been overcome by the spirit at some Southern revival before you pull.
Is that a wide-stance squat suit you’re pulling in? Don’t you normally pull conventional? Or am I mixed up?
LOL I was reallllly having trouble getting the suit exactly how I wanted it to feel.
Youre not confused, its my wide stance squat suit. I dont have a suit I can pull conventional in, and wont be able to get one before the July meet.

And you can pull as much in sumo stance as conventional? Interesting.

Only with the suit.

You’ll never get the suit exactly how you want it to feel. If you do, it’s too big. Those things are designed to be short-term torture chambers.
Smooth pull, smooth through lockout. Good shit man, you have any idea of what numbers you want to hit at your meet? (Other than an OVER 9000 total, of course)
I think you need to get a new bench shirt. Isn’t your best raw around 405? and you are having trouble with 435 in the shirt? tells me the shirt is worn out most likely.

Thanks, just tryin to catch you.
After watching/spotting me that day, my dad thinks I may have out grown it a bit due to my little trip to teh swoley land…we couldnt get it to fit right, and it kept completely locking up about 1.5-2 board distance of my chest, which is has never done before. I will see what I can do…
ME Lower
Went back and forth on pulling or squatting today, knee felt rough still so I went with pulling. Used the suit again and got 640 in it, technically a pr but this was the first time I went as heavy as I could. Got to train a beginner today, alongside my training.
There truly is something awesome about passing on what you have been given to someone else.

if it is locking up, need to load more weight on the bar:)
Maybe. Or are you tweaking the seams too much?
PeteS wrote:
remember for your meet you can always do your opener RAWWWW, then throw the shirt on for PR time
Have you done this before, Pete? My coach has proposed it to me in the past (not with benching). But I just can’t believe that there’s enough time to suit up and get everything properly seated between attempts. Especially when you don’t know the size of your flight until you show up at the meet. Of course, you’re on the clock with USAPL, unlike some feds.
Pete - haha that could be the solution, but what bugs me is usually I have no problem touching with 435…I am going to take these last few weeks to re learn the shirt and see what I can do come meet time…good thing squat and deadlift seem to be doing alright.
elmore - honestly, I am the wrong guy to ask about that, I cant think of the last time I took an actual deload week…ask MM or Pete bout that…my personal opinion, if you dont feel like you need it, dont do it.
kpsnap - I did try to adjust the shirt differently that day, that may have been part of the problem.

What is your opinion on a set deload week?
I de-load when I’m sick, on vacation, or post-meet. I can’t understand programs that prescribe frequent, scheduled de-loads. Being a woman, there are certain times that I feel like shit. And I like having the ability to tailor my training to that. I’d much rather work around my own body than a program schedule.
