Nice lifts CA!Thats a good thing to outgrow your gym for weight.Lots of lifters would love to have that problem.
Thanks JT.
I’m putting 10 more pounds on DL (525) next time I do it. I feel really good today, not beat up at all. If circumstances hadn’t turned otherwise I would have popped down to the gym for some Kurlz ™ and straight arm pulldowns.
Front Squats and Dead Incline Bench tomorrow and I’m really looking forward to it.
mcl,
the great thing about bands is that you don’t have to use nearly the bar weight to get huge resistance. get me a pick of your power rack. i’m sure i could figure out a way to set up bands.

I can’t find a picture that looks exactly like it, but this one’s very, very close: http://www.ironcompany.com/ProductImages/bombproof/41A-lg.jpg. The difference in mine is that the pins are bars that rest on pockets, rather than the moveable(?) fixed bar in that photo. Since the pins just lay in the pockets, looping the bands around them is out of the question. I suppose I could loop them around the base of the rack. I think there might be enough clearance to thread a band under it.

Meat- try this one http://www.ironcompany.com/ProductImages/bombproof/41A-lg.jpg
The “.” at the end hosed it.
BTW, mcl, nice looking rack ![]()

That’s what she said!
2009-8-12
Dead Incline Bench
barx15
135x5
155x3
180x3
205x3
230x1,1,1 (PR +5 lbs)
205x5 (paused on pins. PR +5 lbs)
Front Squat from Pins
150x3
175x3
200x3
225x1
250x1
260x1,1 (PR +10lbs) Brought stance in closer per the Meat Advisory Board. It worked well.
235x5 (PR + 10lbs +2 reps)
1-Arm DB Rows
145x8x2 sets
Notes:
Bench - still not too difficult. !st set was the hardest, just finding the groove 2nd and 3rd sets were pretty smooth.
Front Squat - Very strong on these could have done 5-10 lbs more, but this was a good weight. I might have a 300 front
squat before september is out.
Rows - hurting less in the right middle back. The whole shoulder is stronger. Keep up the scap activation work.
Back tightened up and cramped right after front squats, so instead of BB rows I went with DB rows. The clean pulls and snatches last session dipped into my recovery stores and my lower back hasn’t quite recovered.
Nice pullls and Squats!!!
you bastard!
we are simple pounds from each other on the anderson pin squats- 300 is on my short list for a front squat.
Im guessing you might get there first.
I have hit 275 but almost black out- I think 265- on pins I black out too…
great work, that pull looked great, and the pin squat looked easy
kmc
your form on both were very impressive!!! i could NEVER do snatch grip front squats like that. you are very flexible.

It’s the power of the moustache. The longer it grows, the more flexible you become. A full goatee will net me a call from the Chinese acrobats.

Thanks KMc.
I’m thinking I’m only 5 lbs away from 300 right now, what with the new form.
I got a sweet deal though - gym in my garage and a job that affords me the time with pretty low stress.
I’ll wear the epithet proudly, though.

Yes Sir… It won’t happen again. But, hey, at least I complimented his rack and not his package…

I can’t even touch my right shoulder with my right hand or left with my left hand. I’ll never be able to do a snatch grip front squat. Great lifting Skid.

Thanks Eco and Meat.
But honestly - while I’m all for aesthetics, I’d rather have a successful butt-ugly lift with a shit-ton of weight.
With all you big bastards on the board, my poundages seem puny to me, like I’m just starting out with lifting.

You’re nowhere near puny.

And proving the adage true, I look at your poundages and feel the same way. (though, in fairness, I am just starting out, with just a bit more than a year under my belt.)
There’s always going to be a little girl warming up with your max somewhere. Sometimes, the little girl just looks like maraudermeat. ![]()
