The Saga of The Charming Albino

I think Barry might be on to something. It always saddens me to see visible abs on a powerlifter. First, it can get you laid, and we won’t support that. Second, your tummy gets cold and it wakes up the voices. See, that’s why I don’t hear voices, I keep my tummy warm.

Dr Lardass perscribes eating the Magic Marching Powder shake thrice daily, each time with a 1/2 gallon of ice cream and a stick of butter.

Since you are over 5’10", you really should be lifting at 308.

I’m not sure my skeleton is structurally capable of carrying that much weight…

Dude 308, that is allot.
I am something like 5’5" I think anything over say 190 on my would be difficult
it not awkward

Nothing wrong with this. Good training Skid

Thanks jw.

Taking the bar out of my squat rack is tough. The angle is not so good so I spend a fair amount of energy just getting the bar into position. Pretty sure I could have done a triple but for that. I’m going to try taller blocks so that I can clear the rack in the bottom position which should let me get under the bar more for the liftoff.

Got a hell of a pump from the volume part of the session. My chesticles are gonna hurt tomorrow…

Nice pressing, good work on the manpon.
Racks are never one size fits some, I am short but with orangutan arms
go figure.
kmc

Thanks kmcnyc. I’m trying.

Orang-utan arms are perfect for record-breaking DLs.

Felt like a beach muscle day so -

Standing DB Curls
55’s 3x10

Incline Tate Presses
55’s 3x10

Right elbow was cooperative today. Only hurt a teeny bit. Doing better about keeping the right shoulder back and making the tricep near the scapula work more.

I need to explore both my elbow pathology
I think they are part of the tendonitis…

Yes the orangutan arms do help with pulling,
not so much with pressing, or pullups.

Squats

135x8
225x3
275x3 (80%)
295x3 (85%)
315x7 (90%) (PR Reps +2)

45-degree Leg Press
490x5
580x6
670x6
760x6 (PR weight +130)
580x10 (crampola or I woulda kept goin’)

Bulgarian Split squats (Rt side only)
60’sx8,4 (kept losing my balance)

Reverse Lunges (Rt side only)
60’s x8 (more stable with these)

Weight Planks
75x1min

Pallof iso_presses
80 1x8 (both sides)

Hanging V-ups
2x8

Good session. I only needed 3 reps on squats but when 3 felt easy I just kept going. Could have gotten 8 but it would have been real ugly.

I tried squatting in shoes with a heel today, as I was thinking of getting some weightlifting shoes, but it felt so awkward and hurt my knees too much that I decided to switch back to my chucks.

According to the one-rep-max calculator I’m only 9 lbs off from a 400 lb squat - if you trust those things. Time will tell.

No video because I wasn’t expecting to get PR’s today…

Awesome work…
great squat!!!

no pics or vid’s of you in high heels dang.

the bulgarian splits are hard, It took me a while to hold two db’s instead of one, but

sadly if any of the unilateral work is difficult or off blanced at any point in the
ROM , that is the one you need to work on.

I mean step up vs, split squats, vs reverse lunges or pistols.

Whoa, cowboy. You gotta buy me a drink first afore I’ll show my personals… It was just some cross trainers anyway.

You are definitely right about that. I got some sleepy muscles in my right buttocks - left over from the disk squoosh, so I gotta make those puppies work. Weird, how I’m able to do reverse lunges just fine, though. I won’t puss out next time - I’ll complete the sets of Bulgies.

I admire your work ethic skidmark! Watching your journey and seeing the dedication and determination you constantly put forward inspires and motivates many of us here. Thanks for sharing skidmark. Stay Strong and Live the Dream!

I gotta say that my work ethic compared to yours is like Dr Evil’s Mini-Me compared to Andre the Giant.

But thanks for the compliment

…even if you ARE Canadian.

Our problem may be that we love what we’re doing so much neither of us conciders it hard work!

Technically I’m not Canadian, I’ve just lived here 99.9% of my life. I carry a British Passport, which gives my Daughter full excess to the European Union other than that I’m a Canuck at heart!

Oh - that’s all right then. I’ll stop accusing you of being from…there.

Still watching those 80’s reruns, are we?

A little dose of inspiration for our big ass deadlifters in the group…

80’s? Hell, we got a new series debuting up here this week, it looks pretty cool, it’s about these motorcycle cops from California… it’s called “CHIPS”, looks pretty interesting.

And next week, Rocky III hits the theatres in my hometown. Your President, Reagan… gives it 2 thumbs up!
