Nice work. Impressive rowing.

Thanks PeteS. It’s nothing compared to your recent performance, but I’m trying to move it along.

DCA, right now I have got pissed off energy to spare. That always helps with setting PRs.

If you can figure out how, I will definitely trade you a few pounds on the bench and military for some of your squat, deadlift and pullup prowess.

Dude! you’re already on your way with the deads. THe more you squat the better your deads will get and you’ll be passing me shortly unless I gain weight the way I plan to. My pullups will suffer a bit from it.
Thats a damn nice workout DCA. Great job of the PR’s. You sure have been rattling them off as of late.

It a simple strategy. Just do something new. Then everything is a PR…
But thanks for the props.

Squat deadlift
Rackpulls (from below the knee/top of shin)
135x5
225x5
315x3
405x3
455x5 (PR reps +2)
405x5
Crap! These hurt a bunch in the low back. May have to go above the knee or just a bit off the floor if they’re gonna feel like this. That said, they are pretty fast considering the weight and how much it hurt.
Box squats (paused on 14" box)
135x3
225x3
265x3,3,3,3,3
275x3,3
285x3,3
ab stuff.
285 was not so fast, but each rep was paused and clean.
I’m compressing the cycle because I will be out of the country all next week with no access to a gym. I need the extended rest anyways.
Edit:
I forgot to mention that I’m very pleased with the PR, even though I can’t sit in one position for very long now… I expect it will get better by day after tomorrow.
Shoulder circuit and pullups tomorrow and then a week off except for maybe bodyweight stuff.

I am abandoning 5/3/1.
I am a pussy.
you owe me a coke.
I’ve been a whole bag of NotFun this last month. Wht thehell happened?
Hang in there DCA, are you feeling banged up?
The Rack Pulls looked good. I can tell you that when I was doing my Rack Pulls under the knee it destroyed my low back in combination with deads, squats etc but now that I do them at the top of the knee it feels loads better.
Of course its more of a back exercise now but its better than wincing everytime you sit or stand.

Well, I guess I’ll see how I feel when I get back. I’d like to keep doing them, but I got good effect from doing them right at the knee as well. I pulled my 515 after a couple of weeks of top-mid-shin pulling followed by a couple of weeks of knee-high pulling so maybe I can rotate the two each week. Might make picking weights a little more tricky, but it isn’t rocket science: anything in the range of “feels heavy” will probably work. With all the squatting I’m doing I should be good off the floor and be able to speed through the funky part if I need to drop the midshin pull…
I can also keep it to multiple singles if needs be to ease off on the back. It’s just so cool (bad-ASS) to do reps, though.
Addendum:
As I said in another forum: “I’ll just rub some dog turds and dirt on it and keep playing.”
good plan, dirt fixes everything.

Yes - the dirt has antiseptic properties while the turds ferment to create heat on the affected site. This speeds healing.
Feeling much perkier now, though lonely. No one will come near me for some reason.

i think i have that kid figured out. He loves creating drama, antagonizing people and gets off on the negative comments. until everyone just stops replying to him, it will continue. i think it would be funny to just start a totally different thread within his threads. He has some bullshit thread about how high frequency is the end all be all. someone should start a discussion about their favorite sandwich in there.
i am feeling snarky. i will do this now[/quote]
Tease.

This is T-Nation, not Urine-nation, sir.
I’m not going to ask how you came to know this…
But it does remind me of a story.
I took Med-Tech in high school thinking I would perhaps jump into the non-collegiate side of health care. In the class we had to sample (I mean TASTE!) urine for sweetness, testing for diabetes. At the time it made a sort of sense - as the teacher explained “What happens if all the equipment breaks down or there’s no power - how will you test then?”
I realized some decades later that he was just a malicious jerk getting his rocks off in his dead-end job.
My tongue is burning now.
Taught many uses of urine in survival school. Great for cleaning off grub worms and wounds. Nice soup with the right barks. Dried turds are for your fuel. I know TMI. Missed it if you said but where you headed to?

Not really - I thought that re-using urine was one of those urban tales. you say it’s actually useful?
I am going to visit the land of Britons, Scots, Welshmen and abandoned Wyk-riders(so many centuries ago) with my family to see some family.
