So if the “refractory period” where blood amino levels need to dip below a threshold before spiking again for maximum protein synthesis vs oxidation (ala the MAG protocol), wouldn’t six meals a day then not follow this “optimal” intake?

Could someone link me to the science behind this idea? I don’t mean an ad, I mean the basis for why this would need to happen.

I almost facepalmed when I read the above post after Bauber’s… sigh. So good to be back after a long weekend.
Bauber the distortion on that picture (ie your upper body appearing closer to the camera/mirror) is fun. Clearly that’s why you look big :P.
Well of course that’s why I took it. I’m really only 165 lbs at over 20% bf.
I have to ask. Is that shirt you were wearing the 90’s style nipple shirt? Or just a normal tank top that looks tiny on your massive 165lb frame? If the former, where the hell do you buy such fun apparel? I seriously want to own a 90’s “retro” workout set a la Levrone style. Inside out hoodie (easy), spandex shorts, and the nipple shirt. I think it’d be awesome for my home gym - or to scare the Japanese!

It’s the npc style tanks you see all the pros wearing these days. I think it’s the nipple style but after I wash them they kinda shrink and pull up. There is a local supplement shop that sells them in my area. I love them bc I sweat so much and they are comfortable.

What’s that, like at least 20%bf or so, right?
Really no idea. But please post a picture of your overly muscular shredded self for comparison.
I’m not picking an argument, but trying to figure it out. It’s just that PX gets called out on his bodyfat and you don’t, when you clearly carry more than he does at this point. Now I’m not defending him either, so please none of that.

No one “calls out” X. They’ve simply said he is not as lean as he believe and says he is. Bauber is not very lean in that pic, but he’s carrying A LOT of muscle, considerably more than X or most on this board.

Figure what out exactly? Maybe I am missing something. Am I carrying a little more bodyfat than I’d like at this point? Yes, no argument there. Have I put on a large quantity of muscle for me? Yes, I think so.
But you make it sound like I am some spindly arm guy with a huge gut overlapping his belt. So make your point. I try to treat everyone with respect and take criticism pretty well from a constructive point of view. And share things that I think work. But please enlighten me with your physique and strength. Because I’ll gladly compare.

^This exactly. The only thing I’d add is that, what really separates the two is that Bauber is carrying much more muscle than X, but talks about himself half as much. He is a stand-up guy without a superiority complex, unlike the professor.

And I never have said or insinuated anything even remotely resembling that I think I am lean. Because I know I’m not lol. Reality is I need to get with a good trainer and let him take it from there. I’m the kind of person that enjoys someone laying everything out and letting me just follow it and do the work. I’ve gotten pretty good on putting on size, but just not keeping it lean. And I’ll be the first to admit that and that I need some direction.

Cool. I’m not a very good “guesstimator” then.
edit: I was not implying that you didn’t have enough muscle. Not AT ALL, dude.
Lol you may have guessed exactly right. I don’t have any idea really. I was just confused one what you were trying to say. Just say hey you are too fat and I’d agree haha.
I find its more about how you say things than what you say, especially on the Internets where intonation, body language, and facial expression are all missing. Phrasing was poor. I think its an acquired skill.
And we all know protruding bellies are the way to go… muscle bellies!
I’d like to add that Bauber has actually competed before, and while he was certainly lean by normal standards, even he admitted that he wasn’t tight enough as he needed to be onstage. This is a stark contrast to making wild guesses about how much he’d weigh onstage, yet never getting anywhere close to that level of leanness, or even thinking he knows it all because he’s known or seen other people accomplish things.
I’ve always gotten the impression that Bauber comes across quite humbly actually.
