The Return of Even More Movies You've Watched This Week III

I tried watching it again after this but I couldn’t make it past the CGI wolves. So I skipped to the ending and saw that silly patch after the last fight. It was hilarious!

I’m waiting eagerly for this.
@Yogi1
Have you guys watched The Room?

I have not. So bad it’s good, or actually good?

It’s beyond awful. If you haven’t watched it, just watch the 2nd video I posted above. Don’t watch the whole movie lol.

Jesus, I lasted less than a minute…

I can only watch the awful movies if there’s good fighting or a hot female actress in it. Yu Nan isn’t “hot” per se, but she’s got a certain something about her, and I liked her in Expendables 2 also.

e.g. This awful movie I thought was great (good cast also):

Chasing the Dragon (2017) HK

This may be the best Hongkong big budget movie made in the last 20 years.

Blade Runner 2049

I read so many critics gushing over this and I’m not sure if I watched the same movie. What I watched bored the living fuck out of me and I would have left the theater if I was not waiting for Harrison Ford to appear and that happened in the last 15 minutes or so I can’t remember it’s like fucking time stood still. Fuck this piece of crap.

Edit

Jesus Christ, pretty visuals are not the sole determination of how good a movie is, you pretentious emo fucks. Of course the cinematography is outstanding. Have you ever seen a film photographed by Roger Deakins that had shitty cinematography? You know who else is a genius at that? Christopher Doyle. Have you seen The Lady in the Water?

And a deliberate pace with long takes does not make a fucking movie “intellectual”. There has to be a specific purpose for it. Sicario required it to create a sense of unrelenting tension because sudden spurts of violence was always ready to happen. This was established in the opening scene. Violence was almost like another character in the movie lurking in the shadows.

In this movie you are telling the audience they need to be fucking paying attention to the shit going on and provide an equivalent payoff as things unfold, not insult their intelligence with a retarded twist at the end.

Fuck you, critics. And fuck you Denis Villanueva.

Thor 3

We are living in really interesting times. Every one of these big budget super hero movies gets better than the last. At least from the perspective of someone who has never read a single comic in his life.

Anyway, this movie is awesome. The fight choreography alone is almost on par with Civil War and the climax where Thor goes wild with his lightning powers or something is one of the greatest scenes ever fimed in action cinema. Plus I now have a serious hard on for Cate Blanchette.

Watched ‘Crazy as Hell’ & yep…it was just as dodgy as thought it would be lol…(the Satan guy had a certain, incongruous campness…which was…well…it just wasn’t very scary).

2.5/5.

Good to hear. It’s going to be a good next few weeks for movies. Thor, Three Billboards, and Justice League B2B2B, and Disaster Artist a couple weeks after.

The movie has a freaking 96% on Rotten Tomatoes with a total of 90 reviews tallied.

I think that is the best score a Marvel Superhero film has ever had.

Edit-

Ah, I stand corrected after a bit of research. The latest Spider-Man film had a lot more reviews tallied. We’ll see if Thor keeps its 96% with as many reviews as Spider-Man has had.

It’s not THAT good lol. The critics are idiots.

I’m so excited for Justice league !!!

Didn’t you just say:

Doesn’t it make sense that it gets the best RT score?

96% puts it near Citizen Kane, Apocalypse Now etc and higher than Ben Hur. I’m assuming the past scores for these super hero movies were too high.

^Look at the score these hacks gave Get Out. Come on…

I’m not sure you understand how RT works. Take a look at Metacritic. Thor 3 has a 73 on there.

To be fair, RT actually has two scores-

There is the “tomatometer”, which simply gauges the amount of positive reviews vs negative reviews and is the big percentage you see, and the tiny little “average rating” that you see underneath it.

The average rating is what really matters-

Citizen Kane has a 9.4/10, Thor has a 7.7/10.

RT is intentionally deceptive in that regard. I don’t understand why they do that…

I’ve checked it out. You guys are right. I should have looked at the rating system more in-depth.

I’m sick as a dog so I’ve watched 3 movies today:

John Wick 2 - If you liked the first one you’ll like the second one. Pretty much the same movie. Nice to see Keanu getting some decent movies again. Always been a fan.

Spider Man something, I dunno, the new one whatever it’s called - Just another Spiderman movie. Much like all the others. At least they skipped the origin story this time.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 - This I liked. I love the first one too. Not as good as the first, admittedly, but still some really funny bits. I wish I’d seen it in the cinema so I could’ve had a better look at the flashy colours. Bautista really stole the show this time.
