Yeah but he’s supposed to be the best detective in the world. Maybe I should be Batman then 'cause I was always 2 steps ahead of him in the “detective” department during the whole movie.
I reckon he was still inexperienced…but still.
It was a good movie, though. I think the director did a good job, some great scenes there.
Gotham city had that dark feel that it’s supposed to have, unlike the Nolan films.
Dude pulled off a good Batman. A bit in the Affleck vein, although he did channel Christian Bale for a moment there.
Didn’t care for his Bruce Waine, though.
Not a movie, but I am 4 episodes into The Last Kingdom on Netflix. The show has a fast pace, which I enjoy. Lots of events occur, and just in the first episode, two of the characters I thought would end up the main character died. I think I know who the main character is now though (maybe?). I’ll give it a 9/10.
Watched “The Night House” last night. Certified fresh on rotten tomatoes.
However, the movie ended up quite disappointing. I won’t spoil it but the ending took a different direction that heavily weakened what had the potential to be a good film.
I did not like it.

Went to see Ambulance over the weekend. First time going to the theaters in probably…4 years, jeez. I really enjoyed it. It’s not by any means a great movie, but I loved the (literally nonstop) action and I’m a Gyllenhall fan. It was a fun time. Wished for a different ending but that always happens.
Just finished The Last Kingdom on Netflix. I have brought this up in other threads because I thought it was awesome! The pace is fast compared to other shows in it’s genre. Lot’s of characters get killed off that you expect to be long term. Characters that seem stable, turn chaotic.
It also has a legendary meat head, and WSM winner in the cast (Magnus Samuelsson).
As someone who has a similar but inferior mustache, I am very jealous. I also don’t have nearly the muscle mass or height either, but I do have better hair I guess.
In a hair contest between hair and no hair, doesn’t hair win by default?
I will say he has a great look going for this role. One he should continue with IMO.
His acting is pretty good too IMO. A few UFC fighters have been cast in movies like the expendables. They are consistently terrible actors, Magnus acts circles around them IMO.
I did mention the muscle mass and height. I’m the same height as Uhtred (the guy next to him), so he dwarfs me haha. Uhtred is actually pretty jacked, but he looks really small next to Magnus.
I got a gym buddy about the size of Magnus, and I just stand on the bench when I talk to him.
Edit: I just looked up Magnus on IMDb, and the WSM showed up. It gets a 8.1 out of 10, but it only had 199 reviewers. I gave it 10 stars, because with that few of reviews I can make an impact. If t-nation gets in on this, we can bump it up to at least a 8.5.
In pure attractiveness, I think that hair generally beats no hair. However, when combined with the right facial hair, a clean shaved head gives a look of dangerous that no hair can match.
If it’s any sort of metric, my wife thinks Uhtred is super hot, and mentions it to me. Haven’t heard anything about Magnus so far.
But Magnus Ver Magnuson on the other hand she thinks is very attractive. So which Magnus does matter, and not just any Magnus will do.
Edit:. Asked for ratings from my wife. Uhtred gets 10/10, Samuelson 8/10, ver Magnuson 9-9.5/10. So I’m thinking overall mass counts for something, but facial looks counts more I think.
Watched the “Haunting of Hill House” series on Netflix. It was pretty good up until the last two episodes. Once again, no one can write good endings anymore.
It’s based off of the Shirley Jackson novel of the same name, and for what it’s worth Stephen King praised it highly and Quentin Tarantino said it’s his favorite Netflix series, bar none. Of course, that shouldn’t change your opinion - just some extra context. I really enjoyed it, start to finish - but endings are tough to please everyone with and can really ruin stuff if you don’t like that.
