I saw Tinder Swindler last night, after not watching a movie in about half a year, and at that time was Blue Valentine.
Tinder Swindler is a great lesson in stupidity and awful decision making and the goofy notion of “love at first sight”.

Almost finishing Jack Reacher as well. I did not like it much, but wife appreciates the look of the lead actor 
Really enjoying Gomorra on HBO Max. About the mafia in Naples, Italy. I find myself rooting for some awful people. The English dubbing could be better.

Just watched “Cold Skin” 2017.
It’s about an old lighthouse that is attacked nightly by mermaid-type creatures. Great acting and setting.
If you want a mix of scary-sci-fi-fantasy and a general escape from reality for 90 minutes, PLUS somehow, the female creature in it is hot.
I haven’t paid money to watch a “superhero” movie in years and years, due to over saturation of the genre. If this gets good reviews though, I might get off the couch:
watche Bohemian Rhapsody. I was surpriced how good the movie was. Really a spectacle.

I also liked The Batman. It’s worth a trip to the theater for sure.
It doesn’t feel like any Batman movie I’ve ever seen before, which was a plus for me because I’ve basically been done with superhero movies since Endgame.

Everyone should be aware by now, but Taylor Sheridan has been absolutely killing it on the Paramount network. Yellowstone, 1883, and Mayor of Kingstown are all pretty damn great. Apparently all the guy does is create/write great character-focused drama, because he has 5 new shows coming out.
That 70s show is one of my favourite shows.
When I heard netflix was composing a “that 90s show” I was ecsatic…

The Batman imho was excellent…the movie focused on his detective skills which has been lacking in the many movies made of the batman

“Nobody” was a big change up for Bob Odenkirk. It was good, entertaining, not awesome but definitely worth the watch if for nothing else than to see him not play a nerdy/offbeat humorist.
Like, i was on the edge of my seat waiting for him to break through the 4th wall and say something goofy directly to the viewer.
Had Odenkirks signature way of zeroing in on the mundane aspects of life and amplifying them into a mind numbing hum, then BAM! Everything gets weird.

The tropes/character arks from HIMYM wouldn’t fly today. They’ve also wokified the cast, toned down the morally questionable content (part of what made the original so funny) and they’ve made turned the gender dynamic around.
The latter isn’t as much of an issue. However they’re doing mad max with a female protagonist now… and I can’t for the life of me figure out why… Mad MAX is a trilogy aimed at a predomianntly male demographic

It’s perpetuating a pattern of toxic masculinity…unless it’s a woman doing it. Then it’s strong empowered woman kicking ass.
