The Return of Even More Movies You've Watched This Week III

Dolph is one of those people I think of as having been cast too perfectly for their own good, too early on. He’s just Drago, forever.

Sharon Stone in

A seminal event in the history of the big screen.

I’m joking, but am I really?..

My opinion, and the lens through which I viewed his screen roles, changed drastically when I found out the dude has a genius level IQ, plus a black belt in Kyukushin Karate.

Actually I think his most memorable role was in Showdown in Little Tokyo. So many homoerotic innuendoes between him and Brandon Lee and they even went to the length of setting up a stupid joke at the start of the 2nd act and paid it off near the end:

Dolph Lundgren sneaks up behind the chick from Wayne’s World and places a dagger on her throat to illustrate that she needs his protection because “you’ll never hear me coming”.

Later they fuck and she says, “This time I heard you coming”.

LOL

Brb, doing more research on Dolph Lundgren, haha

Has he proven it? Sharon Stone has also made that claim but has never backed it up despite constantly being asked for proof for almost 2 decades already.

Are you asking about the genius IQ, or the black belt thing?

There’s a good interview with him conducted by Bas Rutten you can find on YouTube. I think they either started out in, or went to the same martial art school or something. I can’t remember what martial art that was.

I don’t think Sharon Stone ever claimed to know Kyukushin lol.

Lundgren was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1983. … He would later quit studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology after two weeks to pursue acting.

Oh, I thought he claimed he was a Mensa member like Sharon Stone did.

So many people claim to be “black belts” lol.

Pretty, pretty sure no females got black belts in Kyukushin in those days.

Perfect imitation of Dolph’s voice here:

This is BS stuff. I am insulted (not really) that you would think I would ascribe a genius IQ to someone purely for Mensa.

I think Dolph actually has a Master’s in Chemical Engineering, not from MIT though.

LOL I don’t know crap nor do I give a fuck about IQ and Mensa. All I know is that you need a certain IQ level way above the average population to qualify.

Then he’s the equivalent of a fucking rocket scientist lol. Like Xi Jinping, though Xi only has a Bachelor’s.

There’s IQ smart, and then there’s MIT smart.

I think the Ivy League in general is shite these days, but I still hold places like MIT and CalTech in high regard. If that ever changes, the world as I know it will have ceased to exist.

@T3hPwnisher - thanks man. I’ve never really gotten into comics, so I probably won’t go that route (who knows though), but you have given me guidance as to what order to watch things in.

Same dude. I guess I’ll be watching Season 1 of that just because how else do you start shows?

I always thought Frank Grillo would make a good Frank Castle ever since I saw him in the Purge 2.

Sorry man, Robocop was his best movie, because I say so. Starship Troopers? I wouln’t buy that for a dollar.

I should have know the same dude directed all those movies! Some of the best parts of Troopers and Robocop were the evening news stories, commercials and government propaganda on TVs in the background.

Frank Grillo has no screen presence. He can’t carry movies other than small indie films. The dude virtually disappears when he’s in the same scene with Chris Evans ffs.

He even almost got overshadowed by Wu Jing in Wolf Warrior 2. That didn’t even happen to Scott Adkins. Wu Jing lol. Most HK stars other than the ones who can both really act and have great screen presence like Chow Yun Fatt and Jet Li will disappear if you put them on screen with most Hollywood ones. Yeah, seriously, Jet Li is a fucking good actor. Go watch The Warlords (2007) if you don’t believe me.

Wu Jing couldn’t even make it in HK.

His most memorable role was playing the secondary bad guy in ONE HK movie before he made a hit CCP propaganda film(Wolf Warrior 1. It sucked. WW 2 was awesome):

This is how insignificant Frank Grillo looks next to Wu Jing without the funky outfit and hairstyle:

^ This is from Wolf Warrior 2. Told y’all it was awesome long ago. This is one of the more “subdued” action scenes. There are flying tanks and shit.

Frank Grillo looks like “Random Western Bad Guy Number x” in a Jackie Chan movie.

I’m an enormous Heinlein fan, or was when I was younger and thought the movie missed the entire point of the book.
