The Return of Even More Movies You've Watched This Week III

Well get ready… Disney is making a series revolving around her and vision on the new streaming service they have coming out.

I enjoyed the film for the criticism it’s supposed to make against the state of Japanese politics and the decision making system.

Also enjoyed the scene where Godzilla reaches its "final"form and basically burns the entirety of Tokyo to the ground.

Avengers endgame:
5/10. Garbage. Don’t read for potential spoilers

Hulk got bashed by thanos in infinity war. How does captain America fight thanos and take hits from him? Captain America is weak as fuck compared to the hulk. One hit from thanos should turn captain America into a tin can. Oh and not to mention hulk is pathetic in endgame too. Captain marvel is dumb as hell. I could go on but don’t want to spoil it for others

Thanos had most of the gems when he fought Hulk. He didn’t have the gems when he was fighting with Captain America. He managed to send Captain Marvel flying with one punch(lol) once he got the gems.

The problem with Captain Marvel is they established she can go from 0 to lightspeed without getting her tits ripped off because she’s the best at everything. Why is she fighting Thanos at normal speed? She could just grab an axe and chop his head off without him even noticing.

probably because she’s an arrogant narcissist. I’ve watched some of her interviews for the movie and she’s self-centered and insufferably smug. I can only imagine the pain of working with her and having to direct someone who so clearly thinks they know everything. She comes across as having the maturity and self-awareness of a 14 year old

Brie Larson seems like a cunt, or she’s just playing into the narrative coming out of Hollywood lately

what is more shocking is that some of you still put your hard earned money towards goin to see yet ANOTHER Marvel movie. It is the same garbage redone over and over and over and over and over and over.

It was cool when Nolan did those batman films, even if it was fizzling out towards the end, hell even Robert Downy Jr’s Ironman the first time around seemed fresh, but now? we’re what? a million years in?

Last one of these I happened to catch on Netflix seemed like all of the actors were in on the joke, they were all there to collect paychecks and have a good time…

Old Man Logan was pretty good.

Why hasn’t Guy Ritchie made a comic book movie yet? That dude loves extreme character types, and physical attributes that heighten the role/personality. Snatch was a great ensemble cast with interesecting stories. Surley Ritchie could make a good comic book movie.

Not comic book:

I watched The Foreigner with Pierce Brosnan, Jackie Chan and Roose Bolton. I wasn’t expecting much, but it was really good. Some scheming political types, terrorists and a revenge fueled dude on a mission have conflict with each other. Tight story, a couple twists, neatly wrapped up by the end. Definitely worth a look.

Awhile back, I also watched The Ghost Writer with Ewan McGregor as an author writing memoirs for former Prime Minister, Pierce Brosnan. I kinda forget the details but I remember I like it.

Maybe I have a crush on Pierce. Am I the only one who didn’t know he was Irish?

I found one thing to really be concerned about. I’ll be vague at the moment so not to spoil for others.
But the one concept they brought up for better or worse now allows writers and directors to do what they want and not stay within already established cannon at this point moving forward . But than again it was hinted in another movie.
On a side note they contradicted something established by another director for a fan boy scene I noticed.

Yeah, completely agree. Good God, think of the ones now “leading” the Avengers. Anthony Mackie as Captain America? Captain Marvel? Hotel Rwanda? Valkyrie? FUCKING ANT MAN??? Black Panther can as long as they get good filmmakers. It’s fucking Star Wars but none of the dead characters can come back as Force Ghosts.

Which was this? I didn’t notice.

As Odin asked in the last Thor movie “are you the God of hammers?”

Avengers: Endgame

Good, not great ending to the past 11 years. Captain Marvel didn’t ruin the movie but her presence was never a benefit to the story or the scene. The movie would have been better without her. I have no idea how Brie Larson is a famous actress. Or maybe the Captain Marvel character is terrible in the comics too (since I’ve never seen Brie Larson in anything else)? Don’t know, don’t care.

8/10

I’ll bet a lot of money you’ve seen The Room or King Kong: Skull Island. You just don’t remember her in the leading role. Same with me.

AHAHAHAHAHA

No, really, I know how she feels. I almost wept and yelled, “Nooooo!!!” when Captain Marvel appeared too.

Spoilers

I think the scene was clearly meant to be fan-service, but it is explainable in that Thor has apparently been in a state of self-doubt and believes that everything is his fault for not outright killing Thanos the first time. Mjolnir can only be wielded by those who are “worthy”, so Thor was testing himself at that moment to see if he’s still the same person he was before Thanos.

Spoilers

I think the ultimate issue is that everyone knew how the story ended- the “snap” is undone and everything is back to normal. The writers had the unenviable task of managing to do that while writing off a send-off for the original Avengers cast and, sort of, setting things up for the future.

That seems hugely limiting to me. Within that context, I think they did a great job overall.

But the reason a lot of people loved Infinity War was because of Thanos. He was new and interesting.

He’s not that interesting in this film. The original Avengers do have their characters fleshed out even more or allowed to develop, and that’s what made the film seem good to me. A lot of them seem to reach the natural progression of their character arc. Good job I’d say.

And, yes- Captain Marvel sucks. She literally brings nothing to the story because she’s simply too over-powered. You cannot do anything with an overpowered character; that’s why all stories that feature an over-powered character either need to up the ante by introducing an equal or superior (Superman meets General Zod), weaken the over-powered character (Kryptonite), or be a satire/comedy (One-Punch Man). Since the directors cannot do any of these a movie like this, she’s wasted and cannot be allowed to be in the story unless functioning as a deus ex machina.

I also get the feeling that the direction for her sucks too- it’s like they’re telling her to take things way too seriously. The greatest thing they did for Captain America was letting him loosen up a little; could do the same here.

Overall- great film. The film is 3 hours long and it flew by. Not much more to be said imo.

Exactly.

I went and watched Age of Ultron again and there was an ongoing joke throughout the movie about him going, “Language!” at the start when Tony says, “Son of a bitch” lol. Nice that they referenced it here.

Well my point being it was established in Ragnarok That the hammer was nothing more than a way for Thor to channel his power. Which is counter of what it in is in the original comics. So im just scratching my head how Captain America was able to use the hammer even if he was worthy since the power is suppose to originate from Thor himself now.

Oh absolutely. I found that strange too.
