My brother bought tickets for this Saturday. I don’t normally enjoy watching movies on opening weekend, but this is supposed to be a small theater so hopefully it turns out well.
The only movie I’m actually truly hyped for this year is Godzilla. I’m allowing myself to get hyped because Gareth Edwards isn’t directing.

The last Godzilla was absurd. Why were the people at the end cheering for Godzilla? How on earth did they come to the conclusion that Godzilla was helping them??? He just killed a shitload of people by causing a tsunami and then he destroyed half the city.
And they had to put in that Japanese guy just to spout some woo woo mystical eastern bullshit about balancing nature and utter the word “GOJIRA!”. Wtf? The dude was supposed to be a SCIENTIST! Get another token Asian guy to spout that nonsense.

Damn my local small theater is not messing around with 3 showings of End Game on Thursday starting at 6: 30 .
Godzilla movie’s are a major guilty pleasure for me.

I did above. I thought it wasn’t bad but I couldn’t handle the visual overload. There is really nothing I can rant about when the movie itself knows how absurd it is lol. Shit, that fucking scene where the octopus plays the drums…
There are shows from morning till midnight on wed over here. This movie is going to be BIG. It may hit 2.5-3 billion.

Yeah, I was really leery initially, but I ended up enjoying the movie quite a bit, Jason Mamoa is lowkey pretty funny throughout, ha, and the lead actress is an absolute smoke show (to me.) But Black Manta?! That helmet, hoo boy hahaha

I watched the new Godzilla trailer. Looks like they made this one like an anime, which is awesome. There’s a scene with a cross that’s either a nod to Evangelion or they still think the audience is still too stupid to get the God references thrown around throughout the last movie.
Looks like the same Japanese scientist guy from the last movie is back to translate random stuff characters say into woo woo. And the China chick from Rush Hour 2 is in it. I’ll bet she’s here give us important lectures about social cooperation and collective inter-generational responsibility but you guys probably won’t understand what the fuck she’s saying in English because even I don’t.
i would suggest that you guys lower your expectations if you want to enjoy Endgame. It doesn’t suck, but it’s nowhere close to Infinity War. There are parts that are truly awesome. This movie has a fuckload of balls and I really fucking admire the Russo Brothers for what they’ve created. They made this with real artistic integrity aside from having to add in Captain Marvel. The plot is what lets it down and this time it really couldn’t handle it’s own weight. I can’t say much about it without ruining the movie for you. 8/10
Here’s what I can say:
Oh for fuck’s sake. Captain Marvel sucks. The after crediits scene in the Captain Mary Sue movie was a fucking LIE! It was never supposed to be in this movie. Captain Marvel served no fucking purpose to the plot in this movie. She was written in just to make people watch her shitty solo movie. Brie Larson is so fucking bad at acting even the Russos couldn’t get a good performance out of her. And they could make people root for ANT MAN in this movie.
I’m also really done with Marvel save for any new Guardians movie by James Gunn or a Scarlett Witch spinoff. The next “phase” will end up like Star Wars.

Yeah but I was actually disappointed with that movie. It didn’t look like anything he had ever made other than there were lots of beauracrats talking… and talking… and talking lol. But then I’m not a fan of Godzilla. Are you a fan? Did you like it?
By chance can you wait 24 more hours before you go into full rant mode on the movie… I have plans on seeing it tomorrow evening .
NO did not care for the the creature design or the the new take on its origins.

But I gotta say Scarlett Witch is so fucking wasted as a character under the Russos’ vision it’s criminal. But I wouldn’t have much confidence in anyone else making a movie about her.
