I don’t like water pills because I’m more of a natural diuretic person; water, asparagus, low-carb, things like that.

Maybe they’re not bad if you don’t use them too long. Leg cramps is the most common way to tell if your body is low on potassium. I’m not fond of them because of the electrolytes that you lose. Of course you can make sure to eat a lot of bananas and whatnot, but it’s still a risk to me.

So if you do want to use them, just be careful. The fact that you work out hard you’re already losing electrolytes from then so you’ll have to replenish those. To take a diuretic on top of that can leave you with even less electrolytes, then your leg will cramp up when deadlifting, you’ll drop the bar on you toe, then you’ll have to go to the hospital :slight_smile:

ha, I’m not really worried about dehydrating/losing electrolytes…I’ve lived in the desert for the past year.
It’s curently 130+ degrees. I think I got this shit down by now.

Hmm…a diuretic…all I know is that you shouldn’t be on them for too long. I’m sure one of the FA girls knows better - I think they use them for comps all the time.

Ya I used water shed pills with both my comps and as long as you follow the instructiones you’ll be fine. It’s a 7 day deal and they work well. Not a long term solution. If you’re taking Pamprin or anything similar, they have diuretics in, so you already have some experience yourself.

Training today was supposed to be legs.
Treadmil for 11 minutes. uphill speed walk.
then I squatted. couldn’t decide b/w front or back, so I front squatted a few sets working up to 155
then i back squatted 155 for a set and 135 for a set.
My back was sore from DL the other day
I did sets of pull ups in between each set of squats. 5-6 at a time.
Still kind of “dieting” I suppose? But shhh, don’t tell me.

My last day of work was today!
Tomorrow Timi gets a bath, and I pack. uhg I hate packing, but it’s okay, bc IM GOING HOMEEEEEEEEE. :slight_smile:

most of em aren’t potassium sparing so if you make sure to squeeze in a lil extra K+ you’ll be fine. those are some killer cramps and a horrible way to find out you’re deficient, esp if your heart happens to be the one to tell you.
