Hey, everyone. I’m in the process of fine-tuning my new diet (just finished reading a bunch of articles). The only thing I’m having a little trouble with is the protein/fat meal, but I think I’ve got most of that figured out too. I got some pills for fat/Omega-3. They’re called MaxEPA and they contain 600mg of Omega-3 fatty acids per serving (2 pills). My question is, is this about the right amount to go with a normal protein/fat meal, or should I take 3 or 4 pills with each meal? I am also consuming crushed flax seeds in my protein/fat meals, plus chicken breasts, beef, or whey powder if the time is right, and sometimes peanut butter. Thanks everybody
I don’t quite understand your question but I guess you are asking how many fish oil caps to take. YOu should be taking enough pills to cover the 6-10 gram amounts of combined EPA/DHA. If your pill contain 600 grams of EPA/DHA per 2 pills than you would have to take 20 fish caps. This should be taken with a protein and fat meal also.I usually split it up into 5 caps with my 4th and 5th meal and 10 with my 6th meal.
You shoukd take a total of 10 of those pills spread tou with your various P+F meals. I suggest you get some casein, and do a P+F shake, i always take one before bed. I use 25 g of casein, 50 g of natural peanut butter, one tablespon of extra virgin olive oil, and one tablespoon of cod liver oil. It’s more or less 600 cals.
78 grams of fat before bed??? How 'bout cutting that in half and at least doubling your protein! What’s your body going to do with 78 grams of fat while your sleeping? Store it as bodyfat!!!
I would take fish oils with carb meals. I know TECHNICALLY according to Berardi this may not be good. But fish oils help to make you more insulin sensitive which is good when carbs are taken in at the same time. Also, the more dosages you take your fish oils in, the better.
Try a balanced diet. These fad diets will come and go. All of them claim some pseudo-scientific basis. What did Carl Lewis eat? What do the Bulgarian weightlifters eat? Your diet? Probably not.
Yeah, it’s a lot of fat,i get along well with fat, i just do this when bulking.

Would it make a difference which meal I take a multivitamin with (p/c or p/f)?
Take it with the P+F, some vitamins need fats so they’re absorbed.

Shed some light on us Rik, you must know it all and those who write for T-mag know nothing! You must be a vegetarian because you make no sense you lack qulity protein from meat!
Rik, why don’t you try and read the articles by Bernardi? Unless you ate and trained with Carl Lewis and Bulgarian weightlifting team I sincerely doubt that you know what they ate (in addition to what other substances they ingested).
anyone here who trains or eats the same way carl lewis did is a foul anyway. Becuase it works for an elite runner means it will not work for you.
